On another note, I wish I had 200lbs of powder.
Depending on the size and construction materials used in making the room, I'd bet it would blow up if it was all stored in a pile right next to each other. I've seen one pound "erupt" in a field it doesn't explode at all unless it's contained. But with 200lbs going off it would seem likely that there would be a crazy amount of pressure buildup before it fizzed out.

Here's what one ton of black powder will do.

Here is one pound of smokeless pistol powder

But they don't arrest parents that run over their own kids because they feel sorry for them.

No sympathy for people they don't agree with.

It's not considered an explosive. The bottles powder comes in will not contain enough pressure for an explosion to happen in a fire, it just burns.

Black powder is classified as an explosive while smokeless is not.

              Thread title fail.

He was arrested for not properly storing his firearms as he agreed to do as a requirement for obtaining his gun permit in NYC. As an aside, the article waxed on about his proximity to an elementary school. Seriously? Two blocks from an elementary school? You could hit a 9 iron from anyplace in NYC and hit some kind of school. That fact has absolutely nothing to do with his arrest nor was there any shred of evidence that he had any illegal motives for his "arsenal." That is just a sad example of a media outlet trying to demonize an inanimate object. Not because those guns were so close to a school but because they existed. That has to be one of the worst jobs of reporting I have seen in a long time.

Aside from the OPs fail that is.

Only if you detonate it. A fire will not cause detonation.
