never been a collector, but i must have a ppk style gun and it must be able to stand use and potential abuse. to long have i been a james bond fan and to long have i put of buying a ppk. the walther is what im set on, so owners, how do you like them and what don't you like about them? the sig is a potential candidate aswell. btw not too interested in the bersa, its just looks to cheap. im sure it shooting great, but no thanks.

I have a blue German ppk/s and an interarms stainless ppk. I have always liked the PPKs. They have a pretty strong kick to them but are very accurate. I wouldn't part with either of mine. -
Wife has an Interarms PPK in .380. It's her favorite gun to shoot. I like it a lot too but like my full size guns for my hands better. I have serval Ppk, PPK/s, and pp pistols. They are small but look good. The 32 cal is the best round for that size of gun in my opinion. The 380 has a harsher kick and after a while it not fun. If you are not hung up on the name on the slide look for a Manurhin pistol. They are the post war Walthers built in France. The only difference is the Walther rolled slide markings as they were manufactured in France but assembled in Germany.Comment

I have a Walther/Interarms PPK/S .380.
Like mentioned above, for me after about 30 rounds, my hand is bleeding from the recoil. Hopefully, I'll eventually build up a callous.
Love the gun though...Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no right to vote away the rights of a minority; the political function of rights is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities (and the smallest minority on earth is the individual).

Had an SW blued ppk as carry piece for a year. Pretty lines and cool historical/entertainment factor but switched to glock 42. Glock had better overall trigger(single action on ppk was nice but double action ugh), better recoil management and more sight options.Comment

In the James Bond novels Bond used a .25 Beretta 418 with skeletonized grips (he removed the grip panels to make the gun slimmer). He used it through the first 5 novels but after the Beretta's silencer interfered with drawing the pistol in From Russia, With Love he was forced to change to a 7.65mm Walther PPK at the beginning of Dr. No (which was the first movie but the sixth novel).
A .25 Beretta 418 and a pre-WWII 7.65mm Walther PPK. Some PPK's (like mine) are Curio or Relics and are exempt from the roster.

I actually watched a documentary on this. the guy who wrote the novels was some high speed, navy intelligence guy, and was issued a .25 cal. You can get a C&R Walther PPK. C&R guns are exempt from the roster, and you don't need a C&R license to buy one. That's the type Bond would have used anyway, not a modern stainless one.

I have a S&W PPK in .380 ACP. I purchased in part for its connection to the Bond series (but I did go with the stainless option). I have had no problems with it. It is reliable, accurate for its size, and easy to clean. With that said, it took me a while to enjoy shooting it. I have small hands, so the size of the grip has not been a problem for me. After some practice, it no longer batters the web of my hand as it used to. I am glad that I have a modern version with the beavertail, though. I feel that slide bite would suck if I were inattentive with one of the original designs. It is not a modern weapon, and that does have its drawbacks (sight options, etc.), but I think it makes up for that with historical charm.Comment

Have a pre-WWII PPK in .32 ACP and love it. For both it's fictitious and factual history it's a must have.
