    CA friendly firearm auction?

    Just tossing an idea around.

In light of the, NO SALES TO CALIFORNIA restrictions found on so many firearms auctions and a general unfriendly attitude towards California. How much interest would there be in a firearms auction site aimed at serving Californians?

I, and I know a couple others here, have been successsful in getting some of the out of state FFL's to reconsider. What those I have spoken to complain the most about is the rude and belittling e-mails and messages they get from Cali residents. That would probably piss me off too.

When approached with the revenue they are losing for not wanting to do just a couple minutes registering with CaDoJ and 2 minutes to get a CFLC number for thier transactions, some have reconsidered.

IMHO, people need to quit sending the rude, belittling and threatening e-mails to the FFL's and try to educate them. If those would focus on education instead of voicing hatred I think we could make more headway with the out of state FFL's.

There is a firearms auction every quarter or so in Covina. They also do on line bidding. I think the web site is www.gunslingers.com

Some guns are deals, others people screw themselves on.

Something to remember when buying at an auction. They are going to charge you an additional 10% of the selling price for their labor. They charge the seller too. Seems fair to me they aren't doing this for nothing. You are also going to pay sales tax.

If you bid on a gun and it's worth 500 and win the bid at 475 you'll be paying more for the gun than it's worth just pay attention.

It's easier to pay attention if you stay out of the bar.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Speaking for myself, I have sent a number of emails to gunbroker sellers that say "no sales to California". I have never been rude, just pointing out that C&R's are exempt from the CFLC or if it isn't C&R eligible that getting the authorization letter is not a big hassle. I would say that 90% of the replies I get are rude, along the lines of "F you". If they want to cut themselves off from a potentially large market, then that's their choice. I won't bother again to try and "educate" them.

You say "gun nut" like it's a bad thing

                          gunslingers.com is up for sale.

I was thinking more along the lines of an online auction service like gunbroker.com but geared towards buyers in California with merchants who are happy to be selling to our market.
