The manufacturer's labeling must have some legal import. A few years ago Federal ran into a problem selling LE-only ammo, so their solution was to slap a sticker on the boxes they had already made:

Not a good deal on 1000 round cases because they charge $16 for shipping. There are a lot of other places who offer the same price but free shipping on 1000 round cases

SG may not be the rock bottom on everything all the time, but they are consistently the best priced overall.

Some manufacturers restrict sales of certain JHP and +P+ ammo to "civilians". It is not illegal to sell the ammo to non LE but if they find out they may not sell the dealer the ammo any more.

If you want the ammo it is usually available somewhere or of an equivalent type from another manufacturer like CorBon who doesn't play that game.

An employee clearly went against a company policy regarding something they could likely get fired over. Have you never seen what happens when somebody posts specifics about employees or stores violating rules like that? Word gets out and somebody gets canned. They usually deserve it, but this guy was clearly being cool about the situation.

Here's a thought: If your gun store won't sell you "LEO only" ammunition, tell them that there is no such thing, and then find a new gun store.

I wasnt trying to be coy. I just dont want to get anyone in trouble if its possible. Like I've said before I'm new I'd dont have the experience people on here have.
