The 26 works well for me. My buddy just bought a 9 barrel for his 27 so he can use his G17 duty mags. The 26/27 with G17 mags is quite a lot of firepower in a small package.

Based on what you own, I see having a G26 would allow you to share magazines and to me that would be more advantageous than anything else.

Good point about the frenzy. Another will come for sure.

I don't get the hate for .40. I like it better than 9mm, which is too snappy for me.

        I am looking for a new G27 as I already have 2 pistols in .40. I don't even have a 9mm.

            👍👍👍

But based on OP already owning a g17, I'd recommend the g26 for ammo and mag compatibility

I've owned both and would recommend the 26 over the 27 for ammo cost and ability to rapid fire in controlled fashion.

Say what you want about 40 vs 9 but That is 100% false. Either you dont understand what the word snappy means or you were shooting some jacked up ammo.

The 27 can be converted to 9mm (and 357 sig) with a simple barrel change. Use appropriate magazines too.

I ended up buying a g27gen 4 from another calguns member. Couldn't pass up a good deal. I got the g27gen4 with 3 mags true glue sites with upgraded trigger pull to 3.5lbs and a upgraded recoil spring. He also threw in a 22lr convertion kit with 3 mags for only 650 for everything.

                            Sounds like a nice deal, even if it's a .40. 😎

In times like these, we must do the math:

G26 = One of the best subcompacts ever

                              G27 + 9mm Barrel + 9mm mags = G26 + G26(Beast mode)

Who wouldn't like a Beast Mode option?

Don't worry about the reliability of the conversion, particularly if we are talking about the on-roster Gen3 G27. You can shoot multiple thousand rounds of 9mm through a G27 with only the 9mm barrel+mags with out any mechanical stoppage (please note that fact does not count bad ammo).

Once you master the G27 in 9mm, putting it on Beast Mode (.40 or even .357) is ridiculously awesome. You need to master it in 9mm Mode first, though. That is the secret.

                              Hope that helps.
