No, the police are not civiians.

Yes, the police most certainly are civilians. Common defitions may include the police in non civilian status, but constitutionally, they are civilians, they have to be. The Posse Comitatus Act forbids the use of military forces on civilian populations off of federal lands.

By definition, the police force has to be civlian in nature. A police officer is a job, nothing more, nothing less. While it may be a noble job, no one can force another to be a police officer.

What line of work are you in?

I would say I work for a local government and handle a lot of guns from various sources. Some Calguns members have toured my office after FTF transaction and so far everyone liked it.

Constitutionally, the soldiers are also civilians. However in the real world using definitions, the police are not civilians.

I know lots of people back in GA who own FA and I have shot most of them. There are few ranges where you can rent FA's as well.

They are fun to shoot and with a little practice you can be very accurate with controlled bursts. I actually almost bought a FA Vector Uzi with a gemtech suppressor that my dealer had for $5000 but talked myself out of it. The dealer ended up selling the combo for $7500 a few months later.

FA are cool but the entry costs are high and getting higher. The coolest one I shot was a belt fed M2. Belt feds rock!

BTW, FA are legal for civillians in many states. Unfortunately, not in CA.

You echo my thought in that a full-auto is also an investment. They have been going up in price for many years now...it's a solid investment, and a fun one.

I take the stance that the second amendment guarantees the civilian's right to own whatever the military soldiers are allowed to carry in battle. Many will differ from me in that opinion. At the very least one must see that the second amendment guarantees my right to carry anything my local police department is allowed to carry.

I pretty much fired all the listed firearms with exception to the cannons which I have called for fire missions when I was in the service. It is pretty awesome to see from the OP when they fire for effect, maybe 20 to 30 rounds of HE and WP rounds.

Anyways, I beleive in self protection. CCW should be issued to the ones who qualify. We should be able to get guns that we like.
