    Full Auto Firearms Thoughts.

I had an opportunity to shoot various full auto firearms today due to my job assignment. I shot HK MP5, HK MP5SD, HK53 and Colt M4. and all shot well despite the guns looked not cleaned much.

In my opinion, shooting full auto or not, the most fun gun to shoot was the HK MP5SD and the most practical one is Colt M4.

The HK 53's with short barrel and small flash suppressors in the past got the nick name "flame thrower", but the one with longer "Vortex" type suppressor worked wonders. I could see very small orange muzzle flash even in a indoor range. I was able to put all the rounds in a 8.5 X 11" paper when shooting in bursts.

Too bad that we cannot have full auto weapons as civilians. Maybe I should move to another state, maybe Nevada?, and get class 3 license. Or maybe I should join the SWAT team and never retire.

    Oh well, my thoughts.

Be an armorer for SWAT and function test all the time, free ammo man.
'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

You can correct my spelling and grammar error anytime.
I welcome it. How else would I learn.

Wait until you get to shoot a Mk19. Now that's fun!

I can just see the department letter for that:

Due to blah blah blah, we need an automatic grenade launcher blah blah blah to ensure proper crowd control blah blah blah in case of massive zombie outbreak blah blah blah in the LA area.

Enclosed is a requisitioning request for 500 high velocity, High Explosives 40mm grenades.

              Sincerely,

I have shot a lot of full auto guns in the US marine Corps. Have shot FN M249 SAW, Browning M2, M60, M16w/ M203 etc. It was fun. I miss those guns.

FN m249 was the best gun that I carried.

Incorrect. You can buy a totally legal, and transferable full-auto... It's just that you live in California, and the local government denies you your right to.

I know lots of people back in GA who own FA and I have shot most of them. There are few ranges where you can rent FA's as well.

They are fun to shoot and with a little practice you can be very accurate with controlled bursts. I actually almost bought a FA Vector Uzi with a gemtech suppressor that my dealer had for $5000 but talked myself out of it. The dealer ended up selling the combo for $7500 a few months later.

FA are cool but the entry costs are high and getting higher. The coolest one I shot was a belt fed M2. Belt feds rock!

BTW, FA are legal for civillians in many states. Unfortunately, not in CA.

I've had the opportunity to fire lots of full auto guns, lots of suppressed guns, and lots of full auto suppressed guns.

While full auto is definitely fun, I would take the option for suppressors ANY day of the week.

No kidding. I would love to have a suppressor for my 10/22, MKII, 640KD and 44US so I can kill animals without too much fanfare or complaints. I guess I shall stick with a bow though for the moment.

My brother is in MO and he just bought a Ruger MKIII SS and is sending it to Volquartsen to be fitted with an integral suppressor and a 1:9 twist barrel, all in stainless. Again, lucky bastard. Fortunately, I will get to shoot it when I get out there.

There is no such thing as a class 3 license.
