I always find these threads about "Californians" interesting as one who was actually born and raised in California.

A large chunk of California's population are transplants from all over the US. These are not "Californians" but Lib Americans who flock to be together with other Libs from all over this country. California is just the place they now reside.

Unfortunately they now outnumber us conservative Californians.

Then the state would be much better than with all the tree hugging pus**ys that are there and control what the rest of us can and cannot do.

I am sorry for those that are real good(firearm and non-handout) people that are trapped in those areas but without those areas the state would be much better off for the rest of us.
      Just my 2 cents

You do realize that Camp Pendleton, Miramar Air Base and a huge Navy base is here in San Diego, right? Also one of the largest indoor shooting ranges and they have had a repub mayor for as long as I've been here. They got one lib and he got kicked out of office.
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

The greatest issue I've seen in my time in California (my whole life) is the misrepresentation of the entirety of the state's population as being one thing or the other.

I would agree that as a whole, the majority of Californians are statists at the very least Democratic Socialists, but there is still a substantive minority of people who want .gov out of their lives. The issue is that being that they don't want anyone to tell them how to live their lives, they usually don't want to get on a pulpit and do the same to others. This gives the demo-socialists an artificially enhances perception of superiority.

No, no, no, you don't understand how it works.

If we had strict gun laws, those three individuals wouldn't be armed. They also wouldn't want to harm anyone with a bat because, you know, bats are not designed to kill a large number of people. If any of the *real* people were confronted by one or more of the three escapees, they would give them a stern look, an earful of moral outrage and, worst of all, they would subject them to an unfaltering post on social media with a sad face and a sign saying "go back to prison you naughty persons."

All I hear lately, in beautiful Southern California, is how "we need more gun control and how things are getting out of hand with all the shootings and it's because there's too many guns being sold." Yet there are currently 3 VIOLENT, ESCAPED INMATES on the loose no more than 15 minutes away from my house. Now everyone at my work (and other social settings) are fearful for their safety. Yet these are the same individuals that have (and will be) voting to take guns out of our (law abiding) hands! I don't understand.

Maybe I'm the idiot, but it's times like these when I am thankful that I can cook up some popcorn, turn on the notebook, and kick back and clean my colt with small piece of mind that if one of those inmates tried to come in my home, they wouldn't be welcomed nicely. Sound off
Now is probably a good time to remind those people what they are voting for, because this is probably one of those rare times they are open to new ideas with regard to their self defense.

CA bashers all over the internet never want to admit this. We act as a pressure release valve for all their assorted psychos and libs and dems. Homosexuals tend to vote dem too and they come to CA a lot. I don't blame them as I'd not want to be a homosexual in small town fly over state America.

I don't consider these people true Californians.

                      "Venting about Californians"?
While I agree the politicians and liberals in San Francisco and LA have royally screwed up this state, don't lump all "Californians" in that category. There are plenty of conservative, gun owning, Second Amendment supporting NRA members here.

It may be an uphill battle, but maybe someday enough people here will wake up to get rid of the political machine that runs this state.

Or maybe the State of Jefferson will be established.

Never assume "anti" gun folks don't have guns themselves. Not sure why people don't get that.
