    Hollow Points, Legal?

This is probably the wrong area to ask this question, but I'm asking for my sister.

Are hollow point rounds legal in the city of Sacramento? My sister just found some in her house from an old boyfriend, and wants to know if they're legal to own, or she needs to call a LEO to have them removed without getting into trouble.

Calling local PD call lines just has me looped around a bunch, so figured I'd ask here.

Since it is a criminal issue you are concerned with, the best way to find out is to see if there is a specific statute that makes them illegal.

That said, Im not aware of any restrictions in Ca statewide or city that restricts ownership of HP ammo.

As always, my usual disclaimer as seen in my signature applies.

General googling of the issue brought up no bans on it in Sacramento, possibly something in SF saying they upheld on a ban on it, but neither of us live there obviously.

Prohibited by being a felon or some other state mandated stipulation, I'd imagine?

Is she a felon? If yes, prohibited. If no, then she has no problems

For now, until some Sacto staffer reads this thread and realizes they're being sold. He'll tell his boss who will push legislation banning them.
