Good tip...

Pick up some magnetic sheets. Cut them up and write the calibers on them. Easy to switch around from can to can without messing with stickers.

Yep in Iraq in 06 & 07 deployments we had WW2 dated API/APIT and Ball for our .50 cal. I noticed in 2006 we had 1944 & 45 dated ammo, in 07 we only had 1945 dated ammo.
We had some or found some cool stuff on both deployments. In 06 we had an M79 grenade launcher, and found Found a P14 Enfield and a Nazi K98.
07 the IP brought us in a spam can of 7.92x33 STG ammo made by Bulgaria in the late 60's. Our Bn Gunner had a couple PPSH41's in his office

I was lucky enough to find a pair of mortar round transport boxes. These steel containers hold a 2 or 3 k of boxed ammo depending on caliber and are easy to add a lock to.
