The NRA has to walk a fine line when it comes to politics as to not alienate a large percentage of the population. Their stated job is to protect the 2nd Amendment, not choose sides in the political arena. Besides that, you can be as vocal as the loudest groups out there, but if the media is against you and won't pick up your message, it's an uphill battle.

That actually works well because the Addams family is in syndication in most countries so the Lurch character has instant recognition.

And look at the deal we got with Iran. I rest my case.

I'll agree that Wayne may not be the best spokesman for us. But when we've got zero, hildabeast and their ilk spewing half-truths and outright lies about the 2A, and guns in general, then someone's gotta call them on it. If Wayne is the only one who has the cajones to call zero out, then I say more power to him. Let's have a fair, unscripted, one on one debate. No moderators to steer the content either.

We can no longer sit idly on the sidelines and let the anti's control where the conversation goes. If we sit and say nothing, we stand to loose everything.

I know this is going to be a continuing battle with the left but I for one do find some solace when LaPierre makes this statement:

                      he said.
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

Exactly. The NRA wasn't there because it was a venue that would not have been conducive to making an impacting statement.

The townhall was a joke since it appears as though the questions were submitted and screened beforehand, so the responses were prepared and canned. The NRA should have submitted a softball question for the screening process, then during the actual townhall, it should have gone off-script and asked serious questions.

IMHO, this is incompetence or mismanagement. The NRA could, and SHOULD use some of their money to mount a well designed campaign using popular spokes people to get the issues out there. LaPierre seems to have a napoleon complex or whatever but he is the wrong guy for PR, there are tons of good PR agencies who could handle this problem and he should hire one.

                              This is NOT rocket science.

If Wayne is the only one who has the cajones to call zero out, then I say more power to him.
EXACTLY the problem. Worst strategy is to make it look like one guy "calling out" Obama because that's what he wants. t should be a BUNCH of people all stating facts about guns, gun laws, etc and not aimed at anybody in retaliation. Obama wants it to look like it's him against the NRA.

We can no longer sit idly on the sidelines and let the anti's control where the conversation goes.
Then why doesn't the NRA tell that clown to shut up and hire some effective speakers on our behalf?

You're a better man than I am. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to resist the chance to kick him right in the nuts. And then the Secret Service would get all, "hey, you can't kick the leader of the free world in the nuts," on my *** and I'd be all, "well he's not really much of a leader," and then they'd be all, "hmmm...you know you kinda got a poin...wait...no no no...we still can't let you nut kick him," and it would create a big incident which probably wouldn't help our cause because liberals would be all, "see! Crazy redneck nut kickers like these are the reason we need to ban guns!"

So yea...I probably shouldn't be the one to go.
