About 90% of the buyers and sellers on calguns are cool people. The remaining 10% are an unfortunate addition.

This happened to me on a car deal. Answered an ad, drove 30 miles each way to meet, made an offer that was accepted, got a bill of sale for the the deposit I left with them because they had to get it smogged. In passing they mentioned they had another appointment, but at the time I didn't give it a thought. Then a few days later I got an email, change of heart, they are giving it to their kid, yada, yada. I'm 98% sure they got a better offer.

So, I'm the buyer. The seller and I agreed on a price, date, and location. The day prior to the transaction we are to contact one another to confirm the time. I contact the seller via text and he replies with-"Sorry, I've been thinking about it and I don't think I want to sell anymore. I'm going to delete my C.G. thread. Sorry for any inconvenience".

So, between Tuesday and Friday he thinks he doesn't want to sell the handgun anymore, even though we both agreed on the sale transaction prior.

What type of itrader rating would you leave in this situation?

If you decide to leave a feedback, per forum rules, you can only leave a neutral one, since no transaction took place.

Negative feedback should be reserved for transactions where one party has lost either money or goods, or the delivered product is substantially different than advertised. Positive feedback is appropriate for a transaction with good communications between they parties involved and that completes in a timely manner. I agree with others, move on. If the guy made you drive somewhere and no showed, no response, then I would resort to that.

None. He changed his mind. Let it go.

Would have been different if he set up meeting at the LGS, you got there, and he stood you up; but with no real skin off your nose, it's a non-issue.

Simply, no deal, no feedback.

None. Deal was canceled before arranged meeting. No harm no foul.

As most others have said, it happens, a seller did me the exact same thing on an HK USP .45, we had a time and a place set up and all, I was about to leave the house when the seller stopped all communications with me.
In the end I ended up buying another 1911 so I did OK.
Forget about the whole thing and move on with life, something better will come your way.

Official answer: Neutral. You had a deal, he broke it. He gave you advance notice and you were not out any money just some time, so there was no recompense needed to make things right ~rkt
