If it's a clear cut case of self defense, then no lawsuits. This is atleast from what I've seen with personal friends and also heard from LEO's I used to work with.

Just in case I haven't pissed off enough people with this post, I offer the following for consideration: Imagine that the teenage gang members had been exercising their constitutional right for loaded open carry when they came across their intended victim. Does anyone think the result would have been the same?

Gang bangers are criminals, and as such don't have a right to own or possess firearms.

I think it's pretty close to that already with their CHL rules. It'd just make it a bit more common and a lot more visible.

I have to wonder how many people have opted not to pay to exercise their right. I think it will be more than a bit more common if they can OC unrestricted by licensing.
