New ammo campaign

Their video suggests that this would somehow help deal with ammo shortages but I'm not sure how.

I like the shot of the golfer and beautiful scenery. Too bad they didn't talk more about their product.

I hadn't realized how many people are working on this until I googled it. Interesting stuff.

From the video I saw on their site (not the crowdfunding one), you can hand load them fairly easily. With that said, I've never reloaded, but it looks like a simple process.

This eliminates the need for a press. Therefore, for someone that's starting out with reloading, it will be a cheaper alternative in the long run. I could be wrong.

I'm still new to guns, so I don't have history as a point of reference. This product could cost too much to be a viable product. So who knows.

My comment was towards some calgunners that shoot down fellow gun enthusiasts who are at least trying to come up with alternative ways.

They've patented their product and those aren't cheap to do. If they manufactured them using the old methods that failed, then they'll go by the wayside. Then again, technology has introduced new methods of manufacturing and 20 years is a long time when it comes to innovations. Just my 2 cents.

Fair enough. Opinions are just that. Check out PCP ammo. They tried the plastic thing in 2014 with mixed results. Given the pressures involved in rifle ammo im hesitant to trust anything other than whats been proven.

I too have noticed a general decline in quality responses the past few years.

I think, based on my 40 plus years of being a gun owner / shooter, their idea isn't going to be successful. Period.

Vision? The only vision I took away from their presentation was they want to make money with my money not theirs. They want me to take the "risks" for zero benefits.

Part of being an entrepreneur is finding ways to raise the capital needed to get things started. There are traditional methods (angel investor, pitching on shark tank lol, having a rich relative, personal savings etc. and giving equity in return). Like I mentioned earlier, this is just another method. Choosing not to buy into it is also an option.

As musick mentioned, PCPammo has something similar, except theirs isn't reloadable. IMO, that's going to be their niche. Yes, the market doesn't exist, but that's because no one has come out with an alternative to reloading. I'm not saying this company is going to be a success, but it's worth my measly $25 to find out. Basically a box of ammo. So who knows?

A perfect example that comes to mind is Bill Gates' vision when the market didn't exist. His vision was for every household to have a computer. People back then thought he was nuts because no one saw the need to it. The market for it didn't exist. Now computers/cell phones, etc. are part of our society.
