    DOJ 10 Day Wait Delay

Got the call from the shop this morning (Merry F'ing Christmas) that the DOJ has put my latest DROS on Delay. No rejection. Just a delay. Was supposed to pick it up on the 26th. That obviously isn't going to happen.

I had a feeling there were more. Can we assume the DOJ is overwhelmed or at least claiming to be?

Federal check is automated, it takes minutes. You can blame all this wait on California.

Whatever happened with the ruling that a 10 day wait is unConstitutional?

That's what I would like to know. Isn't there a time limit for appeals before they have to observe the federal ruling?

If I read it correctly Harris is no longer appealing it, instead she is taking her sweet time getting it implemented and instead now asking for stays to get the department needed in operation. Since she is now "complying" it seems no ones eyes but ours are on her. If you ask me the state should be looking into her, where is all this money going, and why can they not put people to work in these jobs?

The shop said no reason for the delay was given. I did a PPT with the same shop back in late August.

Yep, and assuming the OP isn't a prohibited person, I'd bet that his delay is related to this. If I had to guess, I'd say that the CA DOJ is so backed up right now that they can't keep up -- especially going into the long Christmas weekend.

It happened to me a while back. I was supposed to pick up on a Monday. They didn't even get to my file until the Friday before. When they tried to run my info, the NICS system was "down." So they slapped a "delay" on it. The FFL called me on Monday and told me about the delay (no reason given). I received the delay letter from the DOJ on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I was lucky enough to get someone at the DOJ on the phone. He was very helpful, and went to talked to the investigator while I waited. He then came back on the line and told me what had happened. While I was still on the phone, the investigator resubmitted my info into the NICS system, and I was approved.
