When I forget the difference between a clip and a magazine, I will go back to playing Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics. BOS forever.

Seriously, lighten up - not something to get upset about.

I guess TECHNICALLY, they load the magazine, but since the mag doesn't come off, it's a moot point. :P

Sage, once I get all my stuff straight and get my gear, I have to get my hands on your Nagant and pretend its Red Orchestra while you have fun loading my SKS two rounds at a time at Chabot. It won't be long, I'm sending an itemized list to my parents so they can find time to take me out to pick up the supplies+ammo.

Yes, some firearms have fixed or detachable magazines, both configurations of magazines are able to be loaded via clips(e.g. M-16 mags loaded via stripper clips and clip guide).

There was this airforce guy who worked actual security on the base who was buying a pistol from me. He kept saying clips. It surprised me with him being in the military and all. And I kept calling it magazine until he caught on that I wasn't calling them clips. I even catch a close friend of mine in the navy use clips every now and then.

Heh, it's not exactly in "original trim" anymore with the Mojo on it and all... but not having to aim 6" low at 100 yards is a huge plus.

Wonder if you could do the Chabot tactical rifle with that SKS, or if the 2 at a time thing applies then, too...

Yeah, seriously, *loads rounds* *brings up sights* *lets the bolt fly and sweeps the rifle across several targets*. Then I'd have to compete with people with their legal detachable 10 round magazines so I'd probably just say screw shooting them and run up to em with the bayo and get kicked out.

I know the difference, but it's far too much effor to be the Nazi and constantly correct people. I just keep saying magazine when they say clip.

It also really bothers me when people say motor when they are really talking about the engine in their car/truck. Again, I cringe and let it slide - not worth getting worked up about.

Similarly, it makes me crumple into a ball when people don't know the difference between a wheel and a tire, or when they call their computer "the hard drive" or "the cpu."

But the absolute worst? When people call cartoons comics, and vice-versa. Come on, people!!!

I asked the salesguy how many "clips" came with the gun; followed immediately and rather sheepishly by "I mean magazines". I could feel the stares and giggles from the guys hanging around the counter.

Now I am ex-military, have been around firearms my whole life and I have never used the term "clip" before. My only guess is that my mind was befuddled thinking of the M1 they had there.

Ok, I feel better. I just wanted to confess.

Now as a rant, I bought and paid for the P90 back in June but since it was on consignment I had to wait 30 days. Now I have to wait an additional 10 days to DROS. I have already forgotten what the old girl looks like.

                        Oh well.

Really, people have been misusing the term for so long,
dictionaries now define clip to be
n 1: a metal frame or container holding cartridges; can be
inserted into an automatic gun [syn: cartridge holder,
                        cartridge clip, magazine]

I would not be too embarassed about it, impressing the help at Turners especially in Reseda is among the least of my worries and I'd be happy to have a general gun knowledge test against them anytime. I also saw the $125 P90 on the internet but Reseda where this was located is too far away from me and most of the steals are there I noticed, I did get two good delas but it was not worth three trips due to the 3o days and the headaches of extra paperwork and incompetent service from most of the help.

Is this gun really in 80% condition? Turners pricing on used guns and DROS procedures are haphazard but this seems like it was priced very low. I passed a similar conditioned two tome P90 at $230 2 years ago at Riverside Turners but my dad did get a NIB P97 blued for $280 last year at Orange.

I would go back for a very good deal as I combine it with trips to Hollywood to visit a friend and eat certain types of ethnic cuisine(I'm a "foodie") but the traffic, gas and heat limit my Reseda trips.

BTW, is the Norinco 22 you bought a 22 pump Fountain Valley had advertised at $75?
