They do not have to do PPT on handguns if they do not sell handguns.
But yes, they must do PPT on long guns, shotguns, and Category-1 "Other" (pistol grip shotguns, bare lowers, spade-grip long guns, etc...)

Hanford store has a photocopy of a Daniel Defense AR on the rack. The sales guy told me they won't stock it but will order it for me. I have seen the DPMS and Windham in the store.

I was in my local Big 5 buying a shotgun and they had a DPMS Oracle 5.56 for $669. Rip off but hey, at least they had an AR.
