Big 5 is carrying Colt AR's

Big 5 love em or hate em. Was there tonight and noticed they had a Colt AR. I didn't get the model number but it had Magpul FDE furniture with a forward grip and BB. They were asking about $1200. There were two people checking it out, the manager said the company only had 9. I am guessing in CA or the sales district. One of the guys bought it on the spot. Brand new gun owner too because he started taking the FSC test. Little too much IMO but it's nice to see these floating around in a chain like Big 5. Manager said they had one because they sell alot of firearms.

Also on the rack was a DPMS Oracle and a KelTec SU 16.

Strange cause I did a ppt with a mp sport and they told me they will not sell black rifles. I saw they were a dealer for ruger so I asked how much for a new ar556 and they looked at me crazy.

Fyi not to get too off topic but there are a lot of long time gun owners taking the fsc for first time, since previously all you needed was an hsc

I was told one time when I tried to PPT that they would only transfer what they would normally carry. Because they didn't have any Mosins (what i was transfering)they almost didn't do it!

Getting an FSC might mean buyer has previously purchased only handguns (HSC) or bought last long gun in 2014, before FSC was required.

Seems that when a $1000 gun can be sold for an extra $200 again, capitalism wins out...

They will 'ban' them again when the crazy profit goes away.

If you have a valid hunting license, that will exempt from needing a FSC (rifles, shotguns only)

CCW exempts you as well, including the safe handling demonstration.

Our big 5 in woodland has always carried a decent selection of black rifles. They had few windham weaponry models at one point as well. I bought my 15-22 there on an impulse buy, like other gun stores though the manager makes up his own rules and when called out even in a nice manner will tell you to pound sand quick. I'm glad my 15-22 went smooth, I was going to buy a shotgun recently until he argued with me on the fsc and second proof of residency. He would t accept the hunting liscence exemption and also would not allow a utility bill. Said neither are legal.

I got an FSC a couple weeks ago, but have owned firearms since 1963. I avoided the FSC until recently by having a hunting license, but left my license in my cabin, so it was cheaper and faster to take the FSC test.
