I agree , the M1 carbine is fine just the way it is. However , like the majority of American men , i have an urge to take something that's perfectly fine and improve it.

For the record , the counter guy cory was friendly and is more of a shotgun enthusiast. When i finally get my rifle the way i want it , i think i'll move on to an m-14 style semi auto. maybe from Turners.

Cheap optics are NEVER an improvement and this type of "improvement" has been tried too many times without real success. So, why waste your time and money?

How is adding a scope improving it?

Curious what you think the effective range is with this lethargic round coming from a gun that's obviously not intended for precision target shooting?

What Leupold rings, I do not see any leupold product in that picture. Would be funny if you did, because that would mean your rings cost more than your scope.

Hate to say it, but you wasted your money.

Can you even see anything? The scope is mounted so far forward that without EER scout scope there would be no way to use the scope.

It's now totally worthless for self defense.

Hope you didn't do any permanent damage to that rifle.

Those are the cheapy aluminum leopold rings. The ones made for rimfire. Yeah, I got to say that thing is hideous. I cant wait to hear the range report. If thats not an EER scout scope, your face will have to be over the action.

They made me look ridiculous in front of the whole store and i don't think that's a proper way to do business.
They did you a favor. An M1 topped with a scope looks as ridiculous as a Ford Pinto with a tall rear spoiler and 24 inch custom chrome rims. As for the scope helping the M1 carbine accuracy, the group tightening will be pretty much the same as the speed and horsepower increase on the pimped Ford Pinto I was telling you above.

I have to give Turners in Fountain Valley props. They turned a negative into a positive. I completed a PPT there a week or so ago. They seller was kind enough to bring a lock with a dated receipt within 30 days. Turners took a copy of receipt and kept lock with gun.

Come pick up day no lock and no receipt copy. I called them on it. The sales guy who was very nice (I have to say they all seemed like good guys) did not challenge me at all. Not once. He ended up getting me a lock for free. No questions asked.

I have to say I was impressed.

It may look ridiculous now, but add a tall spoiler and that is one sick ride! Don't forget the gun rack for the scoped M1!

That bottom picture is stupid because I can see that the laser is blocked by the light mounted in front of it!
