Sounds like those gangbangers are just as excited as we are that they can finally purchase an AR. For so many years, they had been holding off on drive bys because of the lack of a way to legally acquire a baby killing assault weapon.

Most "drive by" criminals aren't computer literate. In addition, they can't put together the "life skills" to come up with the approximately $1,000 it takes to build an AR. The typical "drive by" degenerate has trouble getting his baby's momma on the bus to pick up her WIC coupons.

Now, more the more cunning big time gangsters already have fully auto AKs and just about anything else they want. They can get the weapons smuggled into the country.

Low level criminals usually have extensive records. I dont think they would get through DROS to get a lower anyway.

and as far as buying guns on the street ya its pretty easy but ur not gonna get an AR. Your pretty limited to whatever they have on hand or whatever they just boosted from whoevers house. I have three diff people i can do through for guns, except i would rather do it legit. And guns on the street are not that cheap.. if its clean then its about $200 for like a 38 or a 9mm. $300 for others. Shotguns you can get pretty cheap.. It all depends on how many heads they have on them.

Rules for a criminal's gun:

A: it's gotta be cheap. Really cheap. Paying for a legit one is too damn expensive. Stolen goods (like guns) cost about 40% of what honest people paid for them.

B: gotta be disposable. Any ANY small thing that could link that gun with your cousin (call me nuts, but something like, oh, getting caught in posession?) is going to get that person arrested. Oh, and a large part of disposable... see A.

C: gotta require ZERO knowledge to operate. Gangbangers know how to put ammo in (usually) point (but not aim, generally) and yank hard on a trigger. That's the limit. If they have something that requires cleaning and/or practice to operate properly, it's out. They can't handle that ********. Too busy smoking meth. Oh, and they're 99% of the time dumb as posts to begin with...

I'd love to see a gangbanger load an SKS or even figure out how to put on the bayonet without slicing off the bayonet lug and super gluing the barrel with the socket that goes on it.

Most gang bangers are too occupied putting spinner wheels on their Honda Accord and playing their music really loud and the Serious Bangers are too busy shooting each other, I'm not worried at all.

I tell them, "Well you start out with this lower here...no not that built up gun over there, this chunk of metal. I know it doesn't look menacing now, but just wait. The next day a new homie comes in, one I don't recognize, "So ten days later you come back and then we will sell you the rest of the parts and you can have me gun smith it for you. No $170 is not the cost of the whole thing, it just for this piece of metal. Snap homie, just listen. Next you have to buy a fixed magazine kit. No vato, a magazine is what you might call a clip, but girls wear clips, guns hold magazines. Yo foo, I thought you knew better. Anywayz we gotta fix dis mug up in dis and it has to be ten rounds. No homie I can't sell you a 50 round clip, we are limited to 10 caps. Anyway, all said and done you are looking at about $800-$900. NO FOR ONE, not all six. Damn homie. Yeah I need a copy of your driver's license. Yeah they can trace this. What you don't want one? Damns. No I can't meet you out back in 10 minutes."

I have sold thousands of guns to gang bangers this way. I am flooding the streets with assault weapon look alikes. Just the other day I walked out of my front yard and a river of blood was gushing down the gutter. Hell our local junior high just up and straight lost all of their students just because I started selling AR15 parts. All of them gone just from the precense of evil. I thought they all left for summer break, but that is what the conservatives want you to believe. It was because of assault weapon copycat parts. Straight up word!

A.. You get what you pay for.. if you knew jack about gangs you would know that.. If you get caught with a gun used in other crimes you pretty much take the fall for those too.. They will pay a lot for a gun with no murders on it(or heads).

b. disposable is a plus but not always the case.

c. gangmembers are not all stupid. Prision is full of very smart people..hmmm.. well k most of them are retards but there are some smart ones..

Wow you know some rich gang bangers who will invest time and money into an OLL when they can get an AK style weapon for cheaper and quicker. On top of that they must be pretty well off to invest in something they know they may have to ditch at a moments notice. Most LE I talk to usually find them with concealable disposable weapons. Those who get caught with long guns are usually caught with an SKS. This has come from my local PD, local Sherriffs and the guys in forestry I talk to who bust up pot farms. They claim rarely they even come across an AK style weapon.
Yes alot of criminals arnt dumb. They arnt exactly smart either else they would have an honest job like the rest of us. They are street smart. They know what to say to a cop when getting pulled over, they know that the average law abiding citizen wont shoot them if they are unarmed and they know where and when to strike in "normal" suburban areas for the crime they commit. They dont exactly know alot of details about firearms in general except point, spray, and pray. When they come into my shop they usually ask, "y'all got a clip fo mah tre-eighty?" not knowing the make and model and wanting a universal "clip". They ask for "deagles", usually dont know what kind of ammo their gun takes and for crying out loud they dont even know how to put on a cap properly on their thick skulls. I doubt they will take on the time, patience, and money to buy something they can just steal or buy off the streets.

I asked my dad. He is a cop in Newport. He said he isnt afraid of pulling someone over and being shot with an AK or AR..... it is the sawed-off shotgun, and handgun. He and many people in his department think this CA gun controll thing is BS to.
