The handgun was sold in complete stock form as if it were from the factory with 500 rounds or less fired. It's a perfect functioning and well maintained pistol. I have emailed the buyer a dozen pictures upon his request prior to meeting. I've offered the buyer he may test fire the handgun prior to purchasing, given he pays his own way in and provides his own ammo. The good part of this outcome was that a fellow Calgun member happened to be at that FFL during that time and he ended up buying my M&P9 He's the real MVP lol
People have to get their start somewhere as far as itrader goes. I just met a buyer with 2 posts and 0 itrader in bakersfield. He came from Modesto and I came from LA. It is a risk but I had a few things in place that would ensure that he was going to meet there such as the Glympse app that sends me his location and not until he was an hour on the road from his place would I leave my place and I could track him the whole time. Ended up meeting a great guy and left him great feedback.

We ALL had to start with 0 itrader and I can guarantee that even 100% itrader of 40 doesnt guarantee that the transaction will go smoothly.

Thats the risk of travelling to meet a buyer imo, deal isnt done til cash is in hand. Stay local. Choose buyers with high itrader scores to avoid risk.

Since this was a used, off roster M&P 9, I had no way of testing one locally prior to meeting. If this were a Shield for example, I would have test fired one and it would be a different story. Upon inspection, the firearm did not meet my expectations and I was just as disappointed if not more than the seller. Believe me, I wouldn't have taken the day off and made the 200 mile round trip if my intentions were to tire kick and circle jerk. I'm glad the seller was there for multiple PPT and not just for me. Looks like everything worked out on your end OP.

Part of selling something is the risk of having sales fall through. While it is not a good thing to spend time and gas thinking that it is a done deal, it isn't done until the money changes hands.

Since I live in the sticks, I have to drive to meet people or nothing would ever get sold. I accept this, and if something falls through, there is probably at least a decent place for lunch nearby.

You should remove that neutral feedback. You offered not only an inspection, but a test fire. If he didnt like it after shooting, would you still be offended?

Looks like he checked in here already. 200 miles isnt just a "oh well, i dont like it!"
200 miles is commitment, and in this case, disappointment. Every thing worked out for you in the long run, seems like the only one who was out was the potential buyer.

Look at me now! reffering to if you're gonna travel far enough that its a big hassle, then choose a reputable buyer. Otherwise its just part of the sale process.

Agree op should remove the nuetral feedback

                            Caviat emptor.

The buyer HAS THE RIGHT to walk away from any deal as he see's fit.
You guys whining about the buyer, and backing the seller are basically ignorant.
                            Seriously...

                            If I see something I don't like...I walk.
And it seems that the OP had other PPT's going on, so he lost none of his time on this deal.
                            Is that true OP ??
Were you meeting others there at the same time ??

So...OP is butt-hurt about a deal falling through....even though he had other PPT's to do during the same time. He lost no time.
Then he throws the buyer that said "NO" under bus on the forum.

If the above is true, there are some dicks that posted in this thread bashing the buyer without knowing any of the facts.
                            And there it is....
