And I disagree that dry-firing requires breaking any of the 4 rules. You can establish a safe area for dry-firing and designate a "target" with a safe backstop. That eliminates any breaking of the 4 rules.

True, but that is you being safe about it. Whats the target? AR500 plate? How about the backstop? Is it a dirt berm? I doubt anyone will set up an actual range inside their home. Even if a AR500 plate and berm is placed in a room, how about the neighbors? Are they not pass that berm? What im saying is that you still break the safety rule even when precautions are made.

I recall watching an episode of Jerry Miculek's show where he demonstrated how some people re-holster incorrectly and end up pointing the muzzle at their thigh while holstering. He said he didn't even want a gun he had just cleared to be pointed at him. So for the demo, he removed the slide and the barrel (titled striped) and continued with the demo.

Just sayin.

But he still broke rule #1-3 and even 4...according to others, Miculek has no firearm discipline. Even though the barrel was taken out, its still a gun.

Don't know if any one else noticed, near the end his male student holstered the gun with his finger on the trigger, and the instructor DID NOT SAY ANYTHING! I can hear it strike. That ain't smart.

Now for a pseudo-thread-jacking...

Watched "civilian arms training" at pala yesterday. They had a bay rented out, big van, about 12 target points, maybe 20 "trainees" and 5 "instructors"... all tacticool'd out. These guys were flagging EVERYTHING! They had guns pointed at everyone! Walking infront of a line, students pointing at eachother... pointing up range! THEN they asked another guy to go grab the blue/orange guns out of the van! Teaching people to draw a pistol and hold the gun sideways about 6" from their face... no f-in clue what was going on except for ridiculous safety violations.

IMO way worse than the OP video. At least the OP wasn't a whole line and was likely cleared out. I was waiting for the ND and scream of someone getting hit.
