Concord has plenty of Ghetto area (4 corners area for one), but Antioch "outshines" Concord in numbers of the worst crimes. It also leads the SF Bay Area in auto theft.
As explained by the OP and others, the Antioch City housing guy who started the ghetto-ification of Antioch literally advertized Antioch section 8 openness inside cities like Richmond, San Pablo, Oakland and others. The section 8 process of basic screening did not occur and crime patterns from the real ghetto's of Richmond and Oakland literally transplanted themselves to Antioch..or so says APD cops I've talked to. Check the crime maps and you'll see, it's ugly here.
I'm in a particularly bad part of Antioch, in beat 3..which is the Mahogany/Sycamore/Lemontree/Peppertree area! When the weather is warmer, there's easily a minimum of one helicopter per week used for chasing down fugitives who've done something particularly bad (more than just shooting).
As for the question of if it has to do with blacks, I'll just say from a cross section listening of PD dispatch (for at least a year of listening regularly) that a solid 95% of the time violent crime occurs, it's usually your garden variety "BMJ/BMA wearing black hoodie and blue jeans..." Very little do you hear a "WM" mentioned..well, except for arson and child molestation..which is the white man's favored selection of crimes it seems. The crimes I've witnessed follow the above garden variety description including the killer I caught and will soon testify against. I can't wait to go to court and say "I saw a black male wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans..." and point to him.
So sure, statistically, since Antioch has skyrocketed in section 8 living, and predominantly from black imports, and since crimes has come because of it, yes, you could statistically say it has to do with blacks. Sorry if this wasn't the racist answer you were looking for because it has nothing to do with racism..just numbers. Antioch, the new Pitssburg since 2000!
Anyway, OT...what street do you live on space burger? Have you found your crime on the crime map? It's fun living in a city where you get to interact with crime maps!
