Need opinion on Smith & Wesson Shield

I'm thinking about jailing a Smith & Wesson Shield, but I can't decide if a 9mm or 40 would be better. The main reason I was looking at the shield was for better concealment, I like my G19, but getting tired of my IWB holster as I wear 2 shirts so my holster doesn't rub against my side. Using my OWB holster is too bulky and seems to print more than I would like, so I think the Shield might be a Happy Medium. Any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

I have a S&W Shield in 40. Love the Shield, good little gun. Its fairly snappy in 40 though.

Get it in 9mm. I love my Shield 9. Ammo is cheaper, less recoil.

Shot shield 9 and 40 before... prefer the 9mm model than 40s&w.

I shot the 9mm and the .40 and bought the 9. It's been my EDC for almost 2 years. I wouldn't say I'm recoil sensitive, I just found the 9mm a lot easier to shoot.

M&P Shield in 9mm is my carry gun. I use a White Hat inside the belt holster. The combo works very well. The Kydex part of the holster can be purchased separately if you occasionally want to carry a different weapon.

I have the 40 bought it from my brother I love this gun. He went to the 9mm and he loves that gun. my suggestion would be to rent them at your local range and decide for your self

                I had the 9mm shield but I didn't like it , it's not accurate .

I would rather have the extra round.. so I went with the 9mm and GOOD ammo..

I bought a 9mm and liked it enough to get a spare one. I pocket carry with the 8 round mag and use Hornady Critical Duty ammo. Almost everyone I know with a CCW have Shield 9s and one guy has a 40. Great little guns.

My wife caries a shield 40 and loves it. I have not tried it but I have heard you can convert a 40 to 9mm, but not a 9 to a 40.

Not accurate for you, maybe. I have put 10 shots on a 2" circle at 10 yards offhand. How much more accuracy do you need for a carry gun?

Thanks everyone for all the great input, I really appreciate your feedback. Before I forget the only little oxymoron is the new chamber indicater looks like it might get in the way of the sights, but haven't confirmed.

One of my carry guns is the Shield 9mm... Great gun, no issues with the chamber indicator for me.
