Yes, there is damage from the hole that they drill in the door. This damage is easily repaired.

And there is some guy who's a safecracker I saw on tv, he cracked everything by feel. I'll look for the vid. If he's around here you might look him up.

You cannot crack a modern dial lock by feel. That method went away a very long time ago.

I have the safe but princesse won't give up the combo. This 19 year old is not going to control this situation when my wife has POA.

The safe is just 5/16" single wall steel.
I was thinking about cutting through the bottom to keep from having to flip the safe any more then I have to.

Does anyone else have any experience in this endeavor?
I would like to save the safe if I can.
Did you report the locksmith that changed it?

Timelocks disconnect the combination packs from the locking mechanism so you can spin till your blue in the face at night, except you better only spin in one direction or you will have company with guns and badges,. (Ex Mosler Safe Employee)

Perhaps with a modern day electronic lock you're right. But even modern day mechanical locks have a feel to them. And judging by that guys ability, he'd open it.
            Sorry, not sorry.

Have you spoken to the police?

I get the feeling that it might be against a law or two to tamper with stuff that is not yours....

Perhaps the LEO discussion can get her to pass along the combo
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

You cannot feel anything useful on modern locks. Nothing engages the wheels until you stop turning the dial. But don't take my word for it, learn how they work.

The locks Jeff Sitar cracks in those competitions are modified with an object attached to the ends of the spindles which allows him to feel for the combination.

If you can see one with the door open and know how the bolts work , usually there is a correct place to drill and either operate the snubber bar or disengage it.
