lol at the government creating yet another black market.

How many people here, including myself, won't have a rats *** to give about it being illegal to transport ammunition into the state and just do it anyway?

I'm pretty used to regularly breaking stupid, unenforceable laws at this point. One more isn't going to bother me.

For me that's a no-brain er. I have enough guns,I have enough ammo (I hope) and can reload a butt-load more.
So why not put the money where it will do some good for this election fight
It would be better spent with the NRA-ILA.

At this point I am trying to purchase a case a month. Really trying to bolster 223 and x39 as they are the best value purchase compared to reloading.

Next up will be 40s&w and 9mm.

A lot of folks saying they will go out of state to get ammo. Not sure if this is true but I was told if one was to go to say Reno and try to buy ammo or magazine they card you and won't sale to you if posses a ca drivers license. Any truth to this?

maybe if it is tracer or AP ammo.

i bought ammo out of state before in Vegas, and they may make a remark about me being from CA but they will take my money.

magazines on the other hand, they will most likely not want to sell it since CA has that whole +10 magazine = illegal unless {insert exemptions details} and they won't be taking the time to remember/look up all the exemption details to bother.

I've never been carded in Reno. Never heard of anyone being carded. It's not illegal, no one is going to call the cops. Give it a whirl and see what you can get.

There is no crime unless you bring contraband over the State line. Ammo is not yet contraband.

There are credible stories that CA DOJ has put agents into Reno Gun Shows in years past to look for Californians buying standard capacity magazines and then arrest them on I-80, just over the State line.

It's really not hard to look and act like you're not obviously from California. There's a wide choice of scenic paths to return home.

I see myself buying a reloading press in the near future. Since stuff is cheap now, will continue to stack it deep.

I was asked if I was from California the very first time I went into the then NEW Cabela's on Boom Town Exit 4 when I asked to buy a 5 round magazine for my Remington .22LR. Don't pretend that they don't ask because they do, and they wont sell anything restricted to you if your from California. It also took 3 other store employees to keep me from beating the chit out of the POS that asked me that question. After they got me calmed down they were happy to sell me the requested mag that caused me to motherphuck the @ssHolee. I hope they learned a lesson from all of that, I'm more than willing to get it on with anyone that wants to play that game with me. I have never treated anyone different because they are from a different state, we are all supposed to be Americans first. No I wont break the law for someone from Calif. but I wont phuck them over just because of where they are from.

Are you sure those are 1,000 round cases? The ones I have that look like those are 500 rounds. The 1,000 round cases are taller (or so it looks like from this image)

Nevermind, saw the post above that already pointed this out. Doh!

Kinda hard to hide that CA plate though.
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.
