My friend and I tried a Barska spotting scope from Big5. The thing was garbage. The clarity was terrible. Images were fuzzy, and yes, we were focusing the darn thing. The scopes on our rifles were wayyy better in image quality and clarity. He returned it and got his money back. Don't waste your time with Barska unless you want to buy a toy for your kids to play with.

I got a pair of the Big 5 Barska binoculars. Sure, I thought they weren't too bad at the time but that's only because I hadn't seen what good binocs are supposed to look like. They're $60? Bump that price up to about $150 and suddenly you notice a MUCH better picture. Do you have a West Marine near you? They'll have several pairs on display to look through. Run over there and try out the ones in the $150-300 range. Big big difference between those and the sub-$100 Barskas.

Binoculars above 10x are of little value anyway without a solid mount or tripod. And that sort of defeats the purpose of having mobile optics. Save up and get some good 7x35 or 7x50 from Nikon, pentax, Leupold, Steiner or if you can swing it Swarovski, Leitz or Zeiss
+1 and add a couple of 8x42 Vortex products to that list. I have both their Diamondback and Viper - good glasses.

            Just curious.
what do you get when you buy a pair of pants or underwear: one or two?

Holy crap! 12-36x magnification? Best of luck holding that thing steady.

Dark, blurry, and narrow FOV. Everything to look for in a binocular.

Isn't that amazing, everyone has the same experience with the Barska spotting scope from Big 5. I bought one just to try it out cause my Tasco el cheapos was getting old. The Barska would not stay focus at all. I returned it.
My Tasco spotting scope still works very well and only paid $75.00 for them.

                Here's a good priced one under $100.00
