Yes, they would still take the TV and computer stuff. The difference is that no one is going to rob or kill someone with a TV or computer stuff.

        My bold.

In my house, the items I would be least concerned getting stolen are the items you have named; large screen TVs, jewelry, computers, cash, etc. The firearms should be the items we gun owners have to be concerned about. Why? Because, IMHO, we have a certain responsibility to society to try and make sure our guns do not fall into the wrong hands, whether it's the govt. or criminals. In my house, my safe is not merely to prevent my young son from access; it's to prevent them from getting stolen. And it's the criminals that essentially create the whole mess of bad PR regarding firearms and the general public. Bad guys usually do not buy guns, they get them from us.

So to the OP; sorry about your loss, but man, you got to get a safe and more importantly, use it.

I agree it's our responsibility to keep our firearms away from the wrong hands, but what happened to the local PD's responsibility to ensure my neighborhood is safe? and what about the missing and stolen weapons/ammos from our military every year? what happened to the govt's responsibility to society?

btw, sorry to say this, but in real life, organized crimes get their weapon supply from much better sources.

Are you serious? DO you actually believe what you took the time to type here? You do realize there is a "Preview Post" button for a reason. Every time I read one of these threads I shake my head and wonder how many of these threads it will take for people to realize they need a damned safe.

The other thing that happens when I read these threads is I get an urge to drill additional holes in the bottom of my safe and into my concrete slab so it has even more anchor points than it already does. I think to myself "yeah, I have a big safe, yeah, it is anchored to the slab and in a difficult to access place in the garage, but maybe I should anchor it with two more concrete anchors than it already has." It would be a nightmare to lose what is in there........

Oh, and to Wild Squid YOU FAIL!!!

I used your post above and played "fill in the blank" in a few spots (underlined).
Also, I would put off posting for quite some time. Now that you've just had a whole stash of fail unleashed by you, I don't even think you are gonna be able to post anymore. The CalGuns community is gonna know about your stash of fail and that it is out on the forum. You will NOT pass the credibility test on any future posts, possibly for the rest of your life. I am sorry to say, but the CalGuns community and public at large is not gonna take this lightly like the stupid Sheriffs who dusted for evidence of fail, you didn't mention if they did or not.

                I tried.

My dad got a small safe for his handguns a few years ago. Before he got around to bolting it to something, our house was robbed and it was carried away. Talk about failing ....

yea i just wanted to say something, there was too much for me to read and post something more relevant.
