Marking 80% lower

I would like to mark my anodized 80% lower just to avoid potential hassle. Since the lower is already anadozied so i cant do the home etching and wanted to know if i have any other options other then paying for laser etching.

Find a laser engraver in your area.

There are many threads if you look around in different sections (like the riverside section or gunsmithing)

There are also a few companies on here that do advertise this service.

There is certain size, depth and marking requirement according to the BATF. This may be a decent option. (Check out the BATF site).

But I don't think placement is mentioned. So, theoretically you could put them anywhere on the lower receiver. Of course IIRC, there is no requirement to mark them unless you plan to sell them.

Print a copy of the BATF guidelines and keep them with the gun.

Privately built weapons for personal use are not required to be marked. Most likely that unmarked carbine was one of these. They can’t be built for resale, but they can be legally resold — however, it’s a grey area, and ATF’s unwillingness to publish its past letter rulings and legal opinions makes any grey area a minefield. Therefore, most folks that advise you on how to legally build a gun for education and recreation advise you either that you never may sell it or that you may only sell it after a decent interval of enjoying it yourself, and only after marking it with a maker name and city and a serial number.

I had mine engraved, and then used some Aluminum Black to black it out:

Don't use punches on a AR lower. All thou it will look like you did it at home .

But then would that be hard enough to Mark the receiver? The whole point of thread was to not have to pay for etching
