Question about selling on this forum...

So I recently sold a scope to someone and the person sent me money as paypal gift. Now, I have video footage of the USPS guy took procession of the package. 3 days later, the tracking doesn't update. Now the guy wants to file a claim with paypal and get a full refund. Any of you guys ever been in a situation like this? What was the outcome?

Btw, I shipped using USPS priority mail.

He sent the money as "gift". He has no recourse with Paypal.

3 days later, as in... Sunday, Saturday, and did you drop it off Friday morning or afternoon?

      "Dear scope buyer,

I understand you're anxious, but since 1 business day hasn't even passed, please calm your tits and wait till Monday to complain. PS, next time pay more for a shipping service that doesn't suck since USPS is an unreliable mess when it comes to tracking.

      Thanks,
      Scope seller"

I sold some magazines to a guy in Santa Barbara earlier this year. Few hundred miles from me. It took 12 days to get there through USPS.

Tell the guy to hold the hell on.

****And don't bother trying to contact USPS. They will help you not.

USPS priority takes awhile to update sometimes.

It may be difficult for him to articulate to PayPuke. A viable reason why he wants a refund on a GIFT.

USPS is getting slower and slower. Other than the 3 day lag in tracking update. What are the time frames?

I have recieved pkgs, that supposed sat in KC Missouri for days, and still showed as being there. Until a day after they were actually delivered.

            I would suggest patience.

First off, never use gift for goods. Just yesterday I had a member here send me a gift payment for a scope I sold him. I Immediately refunded it and instruct him to resend as goods. Second, USPS priority mail is usually reliable. But last year I had something shipped priority to me. Tracking showed it went to the other side of the country and sat there for a week. Total delivery time took 2 weeks. Gotta be patient.

Why would I not accept a "gift" for goods?

It's the buyers issue not mine...

USPS priority mail takes 1-3 business days; weekends and holidays do not count.
USPS also does not provide up to date tracking info.

Filing a claim will not end well for both of you.
                  Reason why...
                  1. Payment was sent as gift, instead of goods. Which is a violation of PayPal TOS.
                  2. Using PayPal for transactions involving firearm, firearm accessories, or ammunition violates PayPal TOS.
                  3. Violating PayPal TOS can result in PayPal freezing both of the accounts involved and seizing the funds in both accounts as damages for violating the TOS.

OP, if you have a balance in PayPal, pull it RIGHT NOW. If the buyer contests the charge and PayPal gets wind that this is a gun-related transaction, they may freeze your account for violating the TOS

Because it isn't a gift. Now that your buyer is contesting the sale, PayPal knows you're abusing/misusing your account and could likely shut it down.

Eastern European hackers stole $3,500.00 from my checking account through the morons at PayPal. I had to threaten involving the district attorney in my county to even get them to speak with me. PayPal is pure evil. Do not do business with them ever, they do not care about their customer at all. I ended up involving my bank and law enforcement and still PayPal wouldn't close my account. That is why I no longer purchase or sell anything on Ebay.

Tell him to read this thread. We'll explain to him that it may take few days before he get's it. He might do a chargeback with his credit card company but they will reverse it when you present "delivered" evidence. Or....you can contact usps and put a stop on the package and get it back and refund his money. At any rate empty your paypal account to 0. You should always have 0 in it. Leave feedback on him accordingly.

                            Good luck.

They'll just reverse the transfer and suck it right back from the other account.
