I still shoot my Model 1887 Nagant Revolver in 7.5 Nagant when I can find a decent deal on ammo.
I will probably never shoot my Charles "Sparrow" Young 2 shot pump trap gun.
It comes down to what you want to do and if you are will get more enjoyment from shooting them or collecting them. If I ever find a Liberator pistol at the right price, I'd shoot it once and that's it.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

Most of my guns are "discontinued", but there are no safe queens. It depends on what you got ?Originally posted by Marcus von W.Is that banjo music I hear?
"Sporter" is what the drooling toothless inbred albino with the hacksaw thinks his newly created "dear riffel" is.
"Bubba" is what he and his ugly and ruined rifle really are.
First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.
Next thing you know, you think "Deliverance" is a love story.Comment

If they are collectors in excellent condition you purchase to look at or resale in the future you already know the answer.
Everything else, well, guns are made to be used and fired. Enjoy them

Simply because they are not being made does not make them either rare or valuable or likely to increase in value. Those are rare attributes. Unless you know the guns are in thencollectable category, shoot'em and enjoy'em.Benefactor Life Member, National Rifle Association

A shooting I will go. Thanks for the info. Pistols are both older Sigs with limited round count. Nothing outrageous or over the top. Neither are as tasty as these Sig's

Even my used RG revolvers are worth more today than when they were purchased new. In fact, they have probably quadrupled in value.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

If you think about it for a moment every gun in current production will be superseded by a newer model sometime in the future. Just because a gun is no longer in production does not somehow make it super rare or valuable. I regularly shoot both my pre model 29 four screw and my pre model 27 four screw.
If you are thinking about future appreciation, there are any number of better investment vehicles.Last edited by 003; 09-10-2015, 6:44 AM.Comment

Shoot 'em
Then post up pictures and let's talk about 'emPeople don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

It has already crossed over from the NIB threshold, so unless you are going to put 10s of thousands of rounds through it you aren't going to hurt any value.Comment
