                It is really quite maddening that so many threads devolve into an off-topic and wrong discussion of 'straw purchase'.

                While BATF can take some of the blame, for their "Don't lie for the other guy" campaign, the Abramski case established that the eligibility to own guns of any of the participants is irrelevant to 'straw purchase' (it is, however, a separate crime to transfer a gun to an ineligible person.)
