Transfer gun question

Not sure if this is the right thread for this question but my uncle gave me a Para Ordnance 1911 double stack he bought back in 1990. I ordered a 10 round mag for it to make California happy but I'm not sure the best way to transfer it. He bought it in Nevada but has been living in Washington state for the last 15 years or so. It was registered in Washington for his ccw. Any suggestions or someone that can manage the transfer in the Sacramento area? Thanks

Cannot be gifted or transferred since it is off roster and out of state. If it was gifted by your mother, father, grandfather, son or daughter then that would be a different story. This gun cannot be legally registered in CA under the circumstances you've described.

Well, then, if his uncle has an offspring in CA, I guess it could transfer through them. Otherwise SOL.

he could transfer it to your father/mother/grandfather/grandmother in another state, even in another state they can gift it to you here.

That could easily be seen as a straw purchase. You are not able to receive the gun. So, if someone who is able to receive it, does so with the intent to transfer it to you, that is a straw purchase even if both transfers, by themselves, would be legal.

Yes, a straw purchase is illegal if the end user is a felon or not. Again, even if each individual transfer would be legal, it is not legal for one person to buy a firearm with the intention of transferring to someone who can not legally receive it (just like you can't legally receive it now) or, if the real buyer just doesn't want to fill out forms (in CA this isn't even a legal option in the first place), etc.
