Cancelled orders during craze

A certaiin owner of a specific gun shop in Rocklin, ran out of AR inventory and went over to another large warehouse for Sportsman in Rocklin, along with his family members, bought up all the remaining AR rifles for cheap prices (they sold as is, same prices) during the panic and then all of them DROSed them back to this certain owner, he turned around and sold them to his desperate customets for like $2500-$4000 per rifle 1800% mark up gouging anybody who was dedperate. (T)his (D)*khed (S)tore is currently out of biz now.....

I believe everything except the bold. There would be no legal reason to DROS a firearm TO a FFL.

So one FFL told you about something bad a competing FFL supposedly did, yet after all this time there doesn't appear to be any complaints you can find about this when searching around, and can't even remember the name of the FFL that supposedly did it?

I know for sure that there were shops who took deposits on AR orders at the start of the buying frenzy, then were unable to fill them because distributors failed to deliver as promised. the customer orders were cancelled and deposits returned. Then some 6 or 9 months later the shops were finally able to get a hold of some ARs from distributors at a much higher price (like 50% - 80% higher), and offered them for sale in the shop at a much higher price than before the buying frenzy.

I might as well just name the accused FFL since I confirmed which store it was: Sacramento Black Rifle.

My friend had purchased a rifle from them and picked it up a week before the supposed order cancellations and refunds occured so the Loomis FFL told him he was lucky he picked it up before the shortages began. This is what the Loomis FFL told us so I'm just trying to verify it with some members on this board in the Sacramento region.

It's quite possible what CaliforniaLiberal said was what happened... or the the Loomis FFL was spreading lies. I don't know that's why I'm asking before I decide to check out and do business with their shop in NV. I suspect we'll see hoarding and shortages again next year.

I've bought stuff from them in the past and they have been easy to deal with. They seem to have decent prices too. I haven't actually drosed anything through them though. But friends that have everything went smooth.

I think it was TDS guns which is the store now out of business as Esponda mentioned. I shop at Sacramento black rifle often and don't remember huge mark ups. Almost everyone had marked up Pmags. I can say for sure that River City Guns was selling Delton stripped lowers for $329 and DPMS ar15 lower parts kits for $120. Yes I did panic buy the Delton lower so I have proof.

So most shops were cancelling legitimate sales going through the 10 day waiting period, and then turned around and sold the same rifles to other customers are a marked up price?

I'm particularly interested in a Sacramento shop selling AR15 rifles and parts but need verification from someone in the Sacramento area.

I don't believe the store could even if they wanted to.

Once you begin the DROS the firearm belongs to you, but you have a waiting period before it can be released.
