Sorry, it had some thick oil covering the entire thing....

You made the right choice. I love my CZ 75B. That bag is oily as all get out. Once you get the gun out of the bag and just on the foam, you'll likely realize that the bottom half of the foam is soaked in oil. I guess CZ is really really worried about their guns rusting on the way from Europe to the US.

Congrats on your Christmas present. You are going to love it.

        a 1911 is always nice...

or a .22 pistol, I like the P22 - but many have issues with it.

Congrats on the CZ SP-01. Get some snapcaps and dryfire it. The trigger is really gritty and will take some breaking it to smooth out.

What is the best way to clean it before I take her out the first time? Degrease the entire thing and then lube certain areas? Wipe down most of the lube and not worry about it?

You are in need of a Garand.

Edit: See now that I am too late. Good choice though.

As Einstein has shown that it takes infinite energy to accelerate a mass to the speed of light, Obama AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE will demonstrate that it takes infinite money to attain utopia

So, 22 days after my search began I am now in possession of my CZ-75 SP-01. I picked her up tonight . I took her home and proceeded to clean off the surface packing oil, I have it a few dry fires and was disappointed with the gritty trigger pull. I then disassembled, cleaned and oiled her up and dry fired it again....WHAT A DIFFERENCE. It was like shooting my accu-trigger savage, the trigger pull is like a hot knife through butter. To put her through her paces I have 450 rounds of WWB, 100 rounds of reloads and 50 rounds of S&B . Pictures to follow tomorrow when I take her out.
