How often do you clean your guns??

After every range trip. I detail strip after every 500 rounds. It may seem overkill to some but I like my pistols clean

I clean my guns after every time I go shooting. If I don't go shooting I check every few months to ensure my guns are still lubricated.

They get cleaned after they've been fired.

I clean them after every trip as soon as I get home.
It's not fun, but necessary to ensure the firearms will perform well on the next trip. And it gives me an opportunity to do a little inspection at the same time to ensure no excessive wear occurred.

i always clean/oil/inspect it before any competition type event/activity..

also depends on teh gun..if it's a blued typed finish thats prone to rust.. ill clean it right away..and if i have the cleaning kit out, i'll do them all..

if it's a glock type finish or stainless, I tend to leave it dirty for a few range sessions.. for my sig p226, i think it's been a few months and a 1/2 dozen range sessions since i've done anything other than put a drop of oil on the rails..

I clean my weapons after every shoot reguardless of how many rounds fired and when I'm bored or want to go shooting and can't.

If I can't shoot them, then cleaning is enjoyable to me. I also think a well maintained weapon will always perform to its highest level.

Loaded mags are swapped out every month or so... nothing stays fully loaded for more than 4-6 weeks.

After every range trip I clean. If I'm shooting milsurp corrosive stuff, I check the bores once a day for a week to make sure nothing is building up, and if there is some rust appearing i clean it again.

Just turn on the water, spray down some dish soap, and chuck the AK in the bathtub. Repeat as needed. Then Shamwow the crap out of it. Repeat as needed.


I always bore snake my barrel at the range since it's quick and easy, and then break down whatever firearm I've shot and clean it thoroughly once I get home. I take care of my babies. And if a gun sits in my safe for more than a month without firing, I clean it again anyways, just for the hell of it.

My gun cleaning depends on what I shoot and how many rounds down range and when fired guns will be shot again......if I shoot my service rifle at practice on Thursday and I shoot a match on Saturday.. I won't clean the rifle until after the saturday shoot....22lr's?? I only wipe down the bolt face with a Q-Tip.... Garands...ever range trip... 1919A4...... maybe every 3000 -400 rounds......shotgun... every range trip... ak... you're suppose to clean those things??? handguns get cleaned after every trip.

After every shooting session, my stuff gets cleaned. It's part of the pride in ownership for the things I have.
