I don't recall a successful order with optics planet. Its been so long I forgot. I do know I bought several things that were in stock only to have to cancel my order when you are presented with vague shipping estimates.

The same thing happens all the time with Optics Planet and GFOS, but enough people shop there to keep it open.

Ordered a scope. Paid for it. Found a coupon the next day and called them about it. They gave me 10% off ($90) with no questions asked. Free shipping, no sales tax. Item arrived when they said and in great shape and works great.
No complaints.

I almost ALMOST pulled the trigger buying from them. Had a discount code for 15-20% off and was going to buy a 500+$ optic but went back and fourth with all the reviews that was listed about the site. I mean I was trying to find the good in buying with them but man I didn't want to take that chance. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience but it took me weeks to find a site that shipped my item the very next day with tracking. I may have paid almost full price but at least I know it's on its way just waiting to See how the product arrives.

I've ordered numerous items from them over the years. I've yet to have an issue.

For what it is worth I've ordered from opticsplanet several times and have always received my items in a reasonable time, never had an issue with items reported as in stock when they were not, and never had to contact their customer service. From what I've heard including here if your order ends up needing to involve customer service you are in for it, but I believe those orders are the exception rather than the rule.

With this amount of bad examples floating around opticsplanet should do something about their customer service. Obviously with the service rep continually saying they cannot do this or cannot do that they lack any real control over their own internal processes or processes they are depending on with another vendor. Someone though at opticsplanet does have that kind of power, and they should be delegating it to customer service rather than tying their hands, forcing customer service to simply state repeatedly there is not much they can do. This is far from the first example.

a lot of big online retailer don't stock up which they can't stock up million of products the advertise. their warehouse like other mention is manufacture warehouse. If the drop shipper had their qty imported wrong, then Retailer website qty will be wrong too. Their Label was created which doesn't mean it was shipped. i had ordered some items with them, normally take 3 days for them to ship.

I ordered a holster from them. When the holster arrived, it was the wrong holster, so I contacted them by email the day after the holster arrived requesting to return the item. Their response to me was that the time to request an authorization to return the item, had already expired. I complained to Amazon, and they gave me a gift card equal to the value I paid for the holster. I will never place another order with opticplanets.

I ordered an item from them and apparently it wasn't in stock. They never sent me a confirmation email. I emailed three times for three days asking them for a confirmation. I went online and read about horrible their customer service/business. I canceled the order, got a confirmation email right away, and now I am waiting for paypal to refund the cancelation.

What all retailers discover is that one bad review offsets 20 good ones.
