Seems pretty common in the "specialized aftermarket" space, not just guns, the louder, the flashier, the lousier with customers and quality...

Dimitri Karas out at Ares...

good riddance.
and with the glut of ARs, good luck to the "new" owner (though I have my doubts).
on a side note, i like how the email mentioned the "patience and generosity" of the new owner but makes no mention of the patience and generosity of all the people Ares/Dimitri screwed over the years.
another possibility is that Karras changed his name and he's up to his usual trickery.

There's a lot more threads about their shenanigans specifically involving the business, with Dimitri's antics with the city and ATF being a separate matter. They even had a complete upper receiver pre-order a while back for what would have been a decent price... but they required an agreement to a policy stating that they wouldn't give refunds if they failed to deliver the product and only a 7 day warranty http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...1&postcount=12
Now to their credit, they(amazingly) seemed to have actually got some orders filled. But running a store with that kind of policy is still ridiculous.Comment

. Liked the guy. Not sure why the new owner needed to make an announcement.
