    GFOS Dublin

Went to Guns, fishing,& other stuff this morning to pick up a handgun I did a ppt on.So prior to picking the gun up I filled out a safe affidavit when I did the ppt even though the handgun already came with an oem lock still in the package. This morning I go to pick it up and they said I had to buy a lock from them.I said no I don't have to since it came with the lock already and I filled out the affidavit.I brought this up to the salesperson and he told me I still had to buy a lock. Then the manager comes up and I bring up the situation to him and he says it's state law I had to buy a lock and show that it was purchased in the past 30 days, which I knew was bs.He goes away and comes back with a piece of paper showing me the law that he highlighted for me since I didn't know what a talking about, lol!
That place is a joke!Whats more messed up I was told they make people buy locks even though the firearms came with oem doj approved locks.Thats the last time I do a ppt there,it took 1.5hrs by the way.

Almost 5k posts and you have been here since 2006...

Yet, you still did a ppt for a handgun at GFOS?

    Sounds like a personal problem...

They are morons. You just bought the OEM lock that game with the handgun.

And they clearly made you buy the lock on pickup because they knew you would have a hard time saying no since you just want your gun.

Just like I expected, this store wasn't going to be any different than the store in Vacaville. And as time passes they continue to prove me right.

      F those guys.

Not just this store but others do the same thing. Solar Tactical in Livermore stated it was a city ordinance. Another load of BS.

The store was in the middle for me and the buyer, thats the only reason I went there.

Not a personal problem. It was a bs situation at that!

Use Solar (can take a long time if busy) Or Annie's Guns in Fremont.

            Annie's is friendly and efficient.

I drove further to Annie's for my buyer even though Solar was technically closer because I knew I would be in and out faster at Annie's.

Solar is the nicer store to browse around while you wait but there is a loud salesman there that is annoying. I did a PPT (pistol trade) at Solar earlier this year and they didn't make me buy a lock or anything silly.

Yep, that's GFOS for you. Their shop is really close to my work office, so I occasionally go over there when looking to kill some time... but they no longer get any business of mine

I wouldn't shoot there if it was the last range on earth.

Did a PPT in Stockton nearly two years ago. Seller had a trigger lock on the gun. Did the paperwork, left the gun with the trigger lock on the trigger. Came back after the waiting period was over. Was told it was their store policy that if I didn't purchase a lock in the past 30 days then I had to buy one from them for $10. The handed me the gun and the cable lock. Before I left they told me if I wanted to buy something from them they'd either knock $10 off the purchase or if it was a handgun, the next cable lock would be included for free. Wanted the gun more than the argument so I didn't make a fuss. Think a lot of it is pressure these shops get from the local jurisdictions.

Never been to Solar or GFOS, but I've been to Canyon a few times. Place is rough, but had what I wanted at the time. I'm all about shop online table top FFL all the time now.
