    Transporting your handgun

Just curious what everyone use when transporting or carring their handguns in their vehicle ie:range, gunsmith, etc. if you have pics, show'em if you got'em it would be appreciated.
    Thanks for reading and responding.

Personally, I use hard, lockable, plastic gun cases---2-pistol or 4-pistol---I keep these locked in the trunk of my car or locked in the back of the van with the ammo in it's own container---never had a problem.
If an LEO asks to search my car, the answer is ALWAYS no---I want probable cause---they seem to understand this...

Empty with empty mags in case, locked. I drive a truck so it goes in the back of the cab. Keep ammo in the bed if I have it. Never been pulled over with a firearm in the vehicle so haven't had any problems. Wouldn't lie about having it, but wouldn't consent to a search either. Afaik you ARE required to inform a LEO if you have a weapon when asked. It wouldn't bother me too much because I don't have anything to hide. I do know you are NOT required to inform if NOT asked. Concealed is concealed, legal transport isn't a crime.

Soft case in the trunk. Ammo in separate container. If I had a truck or hatchback without a dedicated trunk I would keep in a better locked case, but no need with my current setup

Usually my handguns are in a hard Doskocil case, unlocked, in my trunk. If I am in my truck and they are in the cab, I lock the cases. Long guns usually are in soft cases.

Pistols in gun rugs inside of a locked gym bag.
Ammo in a separate gym bag.
All hidden from view by the SUV cargo cover.

Thanks to those that have responded and those responding in the future.

I myself have a soft case I carry my handguns when to and from the range or my LGS but, I will be upgrading to a hard case due to my choice of vehicle (a hatchback). I perfer it to be strudy case with the option to use a padlock. several friends of mine use ammo cans with a padlock latch modification. Another travels with his fire arm in a fireproof case that is lockable.
I myself have been eyeing the Pelican cases.

again thanks for the responses. Keep them coming.

I use a hard dewalt drill case. I cut out the internals Has a ring for locks also. Big enough to fit about 4 guns.

Just picked up new 1520 case. But didn't realize how big it was untill I had it in hand. I doubt I'll be using it for my firearms now.

And mags and ammo do not have to be separate. Follow the link above and make sure your in compliance.
