Is it illegal to remove the date stamp on magazines (pmags) in California?

Why would you want to ? I imagine if they are 10 round magazines the answer would be no .

Correct me if I'm wrong but PMAGS weren't around when the standard capacity mag ban came along. Therefore you can't have any "grandfathered" magazines.

Well if you legally owned high cap mags prior to 2000 . Then I guess you could have been able to rebuild them with Pmag rebuild kits when they were available .

No officer, my pre bans just happen to be new gen mags and missing their S/N....


It's not illegal, as far as I know there is no mag S/N registration law. But it would be kind of stupid and obvious. But hey, your freedom. Do what you want.

Dates don't matter.

Also it isn't illegal to own and possess any magazine in California. There is no Penal Code regarding owning or possessing magazines.
