    Thoughts on Charleston

Please help me to understand something.

This event in Charleston was caused by this deranged psycho, nut job. To me, he shows the existence of real evil in this world. The kind of evil that all people should stand up and fight against.

This worthless piece of trash picked a defenseless church, with a bunch of people working hard to make themselves and their community a better place. He knew he would be unopposed.

I think we would all say the people in that church would have been justified in defending themselves, had they been able to.

Recently, in other places like Ferguson, NYC, and Baltimore, black people have been killed by the police. "Black lives matter" has been the out-growth of those incidents. I believe that black people feel that they are targeted by police, and they feel helpless to do anything about it.

I do not understand the call by people on the left to take away the right to keep and bear arms from people that are seemingly targeted not only by crazed lunatics, but by the police. Why would anyone want to leave good people defenseless in the face of these things?

I have been running these thoughts through my head over the weekend, trying to make sense of this. The left wants everyone disarmed except the police, but the police are already assumed to be wantonly killing black people. How does anyone justify this logic?

I am at a loss. Please help me sort this out.

Dude, you're applying logic to a situation that would be a nonissue if people who made policy applied logic to it. This isn't about keeping people safe, or letting the defenseless care for themselves, and to be frank, the left doesn't care how many people die because of their policies. In their eyes, its about doing the right thing idealistically.

Aren't there already four or five threads about this?

A lot of people think the police are superheroes that can always be relied upon. I have couple of friends who feel this way so I'm just writing what my friends think.

They think when a robber breaks into your house, you can call 911 and they will be at your house in 30 seconds. They think the fact that you have a cell phone with you at all times and your phone can dial 911, they will always be safe. They don't know that cops are also humans, just like all of us, susceptible to the same evil that causes deaths of innocents. And for all these reasons, they believe cops should have all the guns, and citizens none, and that that will make a safer society.

As for events at Ferguson (and other confirmed cases of cops gunning down unarmed citizens)? They either seem to forget, or consider it as once-in-a-blue-moon thing.

I can see how one can develop these mindset if one grew up sheltered in a bubble. I don't know how many people in US actually think this way, but they're definitely out there. And the anti's do a good job of manipulating them to vote against gun rights

I don't know why the media or anyone else is so interested in what this Loser of the highest order was thinking or motivated by. It's too bad this oxygen-wasting moron didn't put a bullet through his own head but on the other hand I'm sure Bubba is keeping a bunk reserved for him in the State Penn.
At the same time I believe the 2nd Amendment is there for everyone for self defense regardless of color or religion. I'm sure this church must have had ushers- why wern't they armed? They relied on their invisible Superman to look out for them and he was nowhere to be found. These Loser are never prepared for what to do if someone fights back and they no longer have the advantage.
I also hope that if someone gave him that gun knowing he's looney tunes in the head that they get prosecuted to the full extent of the law- whatever that may be in South Carolina.

There is a plethora of guns in our nation that have been lost through centuries. No one has a clue where these guns---often heirlooms went. My own extended family has discovered guns in that we had no idea existed.

Even my old LEO guns are absent in the system. The horse left the barn a long time ago and and it is way too late to track and identify ownership. Still, newer guns in future generations WILL face a whole new world. Guns will be tracked even if it comes down to micro stamping or RFID chips in actual guns.

Too me it is not the gun or the manufacturers. The important issue is to stay within the laws of our fathers and docs associated with their efforts (for Noble Cause, this means the constitution and Bill of Rights).

All of this will be reasonably managed over time. I have been called a Commie, troll and worse by those who are not reasonable and inconsistent with America values.

These loons are not capable of addressing our rights as gun owners. They simply bring a fight and talk like a bunch desert idiots from the middle-east. Hate, hate and more hate will not carry the firearm effort forward in this land. So let the Orq's and idiot sit this one out and let the more intelligent prevail.

Democracy is calling for control--American citizens wanting background checks. From many of the vitriolic posts I have received with no nature of inquisition about my reasoning; I have to agreement with sentiment of America.

Commie, my ***. I am a rational Republican. Then again those who throw non sequitor arguments about--plus ad hominem attacks can and are allowed to bully others. If my thinking appears so random and baseless; you are a solid NewsMax reader and subject of Fox news. 100 yards is the limit of your mental capability and this correlates to a less than 100 point IQ.

In the past being a high school grad was considered a sufficient education. Today, a 4 year degree is of the same value.

So step it up and start reasoning.

Okay Mr. Rational Republican. I challenge you to show empirical evidence that A. You speak for the sentiment of America, and
                B. Democracy is calling for control

So then it is a reasonable supposition that you feel inferior--by your own admission.

What is your level of education? It demonstrates that you are off the scale with hate and a lack of tolerance. Should the confederate flag fly over state grounds?

The problem with dealing with idiots like your yourself is that you will beat people down with your experience that does not really exist. Most people walk away and say--not interesting relevant or worth the time.

                  Your dismissed........

                    Why?

Is there is any answer, regardless of the statistical proof, that would compel you to accept any position beyond your own?

I believe this was a Bible study meeting with perhaps only 20 or so people - not a full church service - so perhaps no ushers.

Also understand that bringing weapons into a church goes against what a lot of very devout people believe in. A church is God's house. I am RC and, even if I did have a CCW, I would leave the gun at home when attending Mass.

Well said fellow owner. Anyone can be an *******. Too often and time and again people run their mouths in a disrespectful manner that destroys the ENTIRE purpose and right for owning a gun.

I don't like fools running amok thinking they are knowledgeable about the complexity of the subject at hand and the pluralist (sort of) Govt and country they live in.
