SSE as it was done in relation to this conversation ended December 31st @ 11pm. The new definition of SSE does not pertain to how guns were DROSed, the conversation at hand or compliance issues stated in this thread.

We are well aware that it is still done, we have been doing it since January 1st

1911 SSE2.0? I never heard of that yet.

To not have guns in SSE configuration during the audit would certainly end bad for the FFL but I am not sure how any of that could be proven after the fact.

From other post on here it seems like Chris may have forgot to click 'Deliver' in the DROS system when delivering guns which would create unregistered firearms and a big issue with the DOJ.

As for his legal troubles no one knows if he even has any or if he just lost his CFD. Either way it's all speculative and it does no good to bash or disclose information about him. Until Chris or someone with actual knowledge post something just wish him the best while he deals with it. Being a dealer in CA is not easy and there are rules we have to follow but it is our job to follow them. Hopefully Chris just made some honest mistakes and didn't intentionally break any.
          This seems very plausible.

There is no need for speculation from any of us. Only Chris knows the situation and only he can and should tell the story.

I stand by my statement. SSE has not "gone away." It has "changed," "been limited," "been modified," but it definitely hasn't gone away. Saying it's gone away to you and I who know better is just a lazy statement, but to someone who doesn't know any better, that statement means they can no longer buy ANY off-roster handgun, which is FUD.

To those who have been misinformed, you can still transfer AR and AK pistols that have been manufactured as single-shot (per the 2015 definition) from the manufacturer. Some places are putting in modified gas tubes, alternate gas blocks, or putting a plug in the buffer.

How do you know that? I would just as quickly have assumed it was AR pistols being SSE'd as any other kind of traditional pistol.

Because we have helped his customers, other FFLS have posted and all the other threads in regards to Chris were about guns purchased last year.

I went there a couple times, it's too bad he had to close. I'd love to know what happened.
