    PLEASE DELETE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Recently a FFL by the name if Digital Instincts was forced to close down. Not sure the entire story. But I believe the ATF DOJ showed up and was asking about SSE's.

I am sure that many of bay area residents used Chris's services at one point, whether for transfer(PPT), new purchases, or SSE, and much more. I and I have yet to hear anything negative about experience with Chris.

Point is he is now closed and had to get a lawyer to help him with the legal issues. I am just a Bay Area residents who ran into Chris and he was vary helpful. He by no means asked for help. But I am going to donated some money to help out with his legal issues. If posted and you have the means to help out and donate I am sure it would help out.

Thanks for anyone who reads this. We all I'm the firearms community need to stick together.

Dozens of FFLs all over the state did SSE and I have not heard or read about any other FFL's having legal issues.

Before I start throwing money around I would like to know the whole story.

Ugh. Was he doing short-cuts? The full process didn't look so bad. Barrel mostly.

Every SSE I did through Chris was 100% legitimate. I don't believe SSEs are at the core of his legal problems. Take a look at the crazy restrictions the City of Sunnyvale puts on people and you'll get an idea of how a Sunnyvale-based FFL is put into an impossible situation.

If anyone out there is in the online gaming industry, keep Chris in mind. Before doing the FFL thing, he was a game designer/developer/PM and very well regarded. Now that he has a new addition to his family (son was recently born), I think he's looking at getting back into the game development world so if anyone here has contacts, I'm sure he'd appreciate the introductions.

I did a few transactions with Chris, great guy and saw nothing untoward. It was also my understanding he chose to close down. In fact we talked about it before SSE ended.
He was a great asset to the community in the Bay Area and wouldn't mind helping out but I'd need more details before cutting a check.

Jeremiah, please remove the first sentence of your post.

But I would like to hear more about his situation, as I got 10 SSE guns through Chris. Hopefully it does not affect any of the buyers.

SSE ended December 31st 11pm so I highly doubt any shop is in trouble over SSE unless they were audited last year and were caught with guns not in SSE configuration. We were audited with guns in SSE and SAE form and the agents looked them all over. To not have guns in SSE configuration during the audit would certainly end bad for the FFL but I am not sure how any of that could be proven after the fact.

From other post on here it seems like Chris may have forgot to click 'Deliver' in the DROS system when delivering guns which would create unregistered firearms and a big issue with the DOJ.

As for his legal troubles no one knows if he even has any or if he just lost his CFD. Either way it's all speculative and it does no good to bash or disclose information about him. Until Chris or someone with actual knowledge post something just wish him the best while he deals with it. Being a dealer in CA is not easy and there are rules we have to follow but it is our job to follow them. Hopefully Chris just made some honest mistakes and didn't intentionally break any.

SSE didn't end. The definition of SSE changed. There are plenty of shops transferring SSE 2.0 compliant guns since Jan. Please don't spread FUD.
