From what I heard from members on this board Metal Dog Tactical is good for PPT but I personally would never buy something new from them unless they gave me a deal I couldn't pass on.

As for that list Rogers Relic recently closed up shop from what I heard they've moved their address to the Campbell area from Santa Clara don't know if they have or plan on reopening.

Castello is a knife store and sells only cowboy era guns so I don't think he would be PPT friendly.

Mel Cotton is a sporting goods store like Big 5 so I doubt they will do one.

Target Masters takes over a hour and make it a pain to do.

Reeds is a good store but make dam sure you pick up the gun on day of release or they will charge a BS 100.00 fee.

UG Imports is a stand up guy but appointment only.

It all depends on how far the 2 parties are willing to travel. The 3 he listed are the closest to the buyer.

Yeah, I put that image together a while ago(because someone was freaking out over 1 shop in the area closing as if there were only a couple more). There's actually another shop in the area that I forget the name of.. R something enterprises that's appointment only if I remember correctly.

I wasn't aware of gun exchange having lost their FFL prior to the "recent" occurrence, but considering the crap attitude I got in there when they did have their FFL and the many other options available, can't say I'd ever be willing to go back if they did get their FFL again unless a serious management and staff change occurs.

I had a great ppt at Metal Dog Tactical. Very fast and professional.
I figured there had to be something I needed so I started looking around. I found the exact variant of the Harris ultralight bipod that I had been researching online, and Metal Dog's normal price on it was the same $78 that the very cheapest place on the internet had it for. Also got a GG&G picatinney sling stud for it. Then I found a CMMG lpk with trigger for a dollar or two cheaper than anywhere I'd seen online. Got that too. Then picked up a magpul field case for my s4 and paid the same as the lowest price online. I didn't look at their gun prices though as I was pretty psyched about my xds I'd just ppt'd.

I've used several places around the area for PPT and new gun purchases. All my PPT have been from guns I bought off of Calguns.

Just used Metal Dog Tactical this past week and have used them in the past. Very quick and no hassle.
Bay Area Gun Vault - I have used them twice in the past year for PPT and they are always polite and professional. I usually end up buying other supplies when I am in there. I have also bought several new guns from them.
Reeds - I used them a year or more ago for a rifle I bought here and they seemed ok. I do remember some weird rule about gun pick up and associated fees if it was not done in a certain amount of time. Seemed shorter than the regular 30 day window.

I think Merc1138 was thinking of RMB Enterprises. Its in Milpitas off of 680. It's just a guy, Rob, in an office. You would have to call and make an appointment. Nice guy but a little out of the way for me.

          Hope that helps

Try SJ Gun Trader and their new brick and mortar location near the Costco by the SJ Airport. Nice people.

Lokey Firearms is also another easy place to do a PPT.

San Jose Gun Trader. Great place, have used them several times both as a home based FFL and also now as a store.
