There's a form to send to the CA DOJ. The ATF doesn't have a firearms registration database for anything except NFA firearms.

Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison

I did this a few years back and do not recall having to send money along with the form.

Having been through a divorce myself recently, I can tell you that it does not matter what gun was registered to who, any more than it matters what car is registered to who, or what house is registered to who. All that matters is what guns were bought before the marriage (original owner keeps them), and which ones were bought during the marriage (community property, must either be split evenly, or the party who takes more must reimburse the other for the difference).

I do realize that you probably want to make sure that any guns she gets in the division of assets get registered to her if they aren't already, and vice versa. You don't keep your receipts? You did say the 2 guns in question were your most recent purchases...

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Me and other members still have this done by local pd before doing a ppt. It's even been posted in the FFL area on CG. Even asked other pd about this and they said it isn't a issue. Doesn't hurt to check with your local pd
