    FrogLube AFTER SHTF?

So I'm very tempted to switch to frog lube. My current way of doing things is WD40 specialist strictly on the exterior. CLP And either Remoil or mobile one on the AR.

But extremely interested in frog lube. But my question is when post SHTF scenario and now froglube is hard to find.

In my research once you've gone frog lube it'll continue to eat at any petroleum product you put on.

Will that be the case for long time? Is it hard to go back to traditional petroleum after you've gone froggy? Can you "degrease" frog lube like you can petroleum products? I can't find any anecdotal info of sometime switching BACK.

    Thx Spooky

You can get rid of Froglube simply by wiping it down with 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol.

I don't like Froglube. I used to use it. But ANY biodegradable lube will do just that; biodegrade. I found that over time, the surface of whatever it was applied to became sticky or gummy. Yes, I made sure it was applied correctly. Not a fan. I prefer Fireclean now. If you want something that will work better in SHTF situations, I suggest fully synthetic lubes like Mil-comm MC series oil or TW25B grease.

Any of the name brand gun lubes are going to be hard to find in a SHTF situation. I do use Froglube and have not had any brakedown of the product. Perhaps I shoot and clean often enough to prevent it.
If you use the paste it also lasts a long time before you need a repurchase. ( The product in the container lasts a long time. Not speaking of stored unshot guns )

"You can get rid of Froglube simply by wiping it down with 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol.*"

Good to read and know. Yeah it almost looks like you need to run it when it is wiped down to almost dry. As long as it is easy to reboot after frog lube I think I'm going to give it a shot. Although very hard to break old way of doing it.

I've had great results with FL in my handguns and experienced none of the issues others mention. As mentioned it's not that big a deal to go back to other products.

I have used Break-Free CLP for years with no problems.

The best part about using froglube is you can use it in the living room and not gas anyone out. Can't do that with other products.

Not a good enough reason to use it. just IMO

                            Lubed up frogs

Lots of threads on frog lube

It seems like 1 tube converts folks back to normal lube

I won't buy a lubricant (so-called, in this case) who's MSDS says nothing about the make-up of the product.

Nor would I buy a lubricant claiming it meets the CLP Mil-Spec, but won't provide either the name of the lab nor the test results.

It is identical to Track-Lube, designed for amusement park rides. Seal 1 is repackaged FrogLube...google Trillium Marketing.

Snake oil and a very expensive variety. Post above is correct, properly applied, Frog Lube has crap performance at low temperatures (FL has taken their Low Temp marketing BS off the web site), and the "inventor", actually a guy who figured out how to take mass quantities of TrackLube and put it into small containers and profit, is, in my opinion, whoring the SEAL's good name.

I've never seen a government contract to purchase FrogLube, in spite of all the marketing hype.
