CZ SP-01 Font Sight - Advice Needed

Hey fellow Calgunners. Just picked up my CZ SP-01. After looking it over and admiring its beauty I noticed that the front sight is not quite centered in the grooves on the top of the gun. It's slightly to the left of center when looking from the rear (see pics). Since its not a dovetail sight it can't be moved. This seems odd to me and I'm wondering if this is common or defect?

So I'm am asking fellow SP-01 owners; is this normal? Would anyone mind posting or texting me a pic of your front sight for comparison? 818-606-0187.

Feel free to let me know if I'm being too anal but the front sight seems rather important.

    Thanks!

Drifts in from the front (and it's tight) and pinned, kinda tough to be off. I'd shoot it, bet it's fine.
Might want to post this in the handguns section, some really helpful CZ experts in there more knowledgeable than I..

Mine is a little bit like that. Drives tacks. No worries.

I don't see how CZ is able to make this right without sending OP a brand new gun.

Point it to the right of the target?

                    Wouldn't a new slide suffice?

Yea, but I would assume OP would prefer to have matching serials.

Called CZ USA and sent pics. The rep offered for me to send the gun in so they can completely replace it. I'll consider this after I shoot it. If they do send a new gun, I'll have to do dros again, 10 day wait, and pay and additional fees for an FFL to do the transfer. Don't want a non matching slide.

FYI, I will shoot the gun as soon as I have the chance to so please don't just say "shoot it". All I'm asking is for feedback from other SP-01 owners. Are your guns the same?

Mine are straight, there are imperfections in the finish but I put some more imperfections the first 100 rounds throught it anyways. This might decrease the value if you wanted to resell the gun, however if you don't plan to do that then a simple drift of the rear sight will suffice.

Not trying to be an ***** but here is my opinion. I suggest to bench rested test fire for more accuracy. 10 or 25 FT target placement should be ok. See where is your POI (point of impact). Since the front is slightly to the left, your POI will "expected" be to the right. If you have a soft punch you can try to drift the rear sight to match your POA (point of aim) with the POI (you need to loose the allen screw to do that ) It is not hard to do but requires some finesse.

I am curious now. What is your test target printout from the factory shows?

Thanks Tom and Romukom for the feedback. All things being equal, I'd prefer a gun that's correctly made whether I hold onto it or not.

I know I can adjust the rear sight, but that will put the shot placement always a bit to the right of where I'm aiming. Again, before I make this determination, I will shoot it first.

I'll post a pic of the factory test target in a bit.
