I know BSP is a good store, I have bought a few things from them. That's why I was surprised to hear something so off the wall and base less from them.

Well also remember, BSP is not really a typical gun store. The employees, other than Chris, may not be as "gun educated" as the typical gun store employees.

You've read the comments above from those in the know and you still say his advise is "off the wall and base less"? Why after 15 posts do you still think this way?

Is there an impending ban coming? Why spread paranoia?

All I have to say is a CA gun owner must always be on the defensive. Some people don't realize that gun ownership in CA is still legal. By defensive, I mean things like taking care not to get pulled over while transporting, and having all of your related documents handy, including copies of the penal code.

Maybe you took it as paranoia? As for spreading it, you were the one that posted it to thousands. He only said it to you...
He may have just offered it as a courtesy to you? I've never had a FFL offer a 4473 copy to me. If it was to happen, I would take it and say thanks. File it away with the other paperwork crap we get.

"Impending ban" coming? Impending as in a date certain, no. Coming soon, I'd my bottom dollar you'll see one. Just like every other buyer right now is betting on...

When I was stopped for OC'ing and someone placed a MWG call the pistol did not come back to me...guessing because it was just picked up 2 days prior. .

They asked me if I had the paperwork on it. . . My answer was "No. I have no legal requirement to and felt it was not necessary."

They admitted I didn't have to, but that the stop would have been shorter because they could more quickly determine that I was in lawful possession.
Nothing to see here. . . Move along.

That is correct for the DROS

You can get a copy of the other white form you filled out, the 4473 and that will have the serial number and other pertinent info.

When I went to Bright Spot I asked about this...

His reason being is that now that all these guns are being sold, that they are going to be cracking down? WTF? And that my receipt for DROS from Bright Spot was not enough, because it didn't list the serial numbers of the rifles. I am very surprised to here this FUB coming from Bright Spot.
OK just to clear this up as stated in my previous post Bob @ BSP was just suggesting to you some helpful CYA measures (NOT citing PC to you geez! ) if you are contacted by a LEO or multiple law enforcement officers about your rifle any paperwork that further illustrates along with you being able to properly explain why your rifle is LEGAL can only further your chances of a more favorable outcome (Do you have to have it **** no this is still FREE America well actually it is California and becuse it is the cops may just let the court decide if you fail to convince them that your OLL is not an evil AW or even if you do... I better stop there dont wanna be acused of spreading any FUD! )

I also asked directly as to the tone of the warning ie. "they cracking down" "his reasoning about xyz" yada yada yada...

Bottomline trying to be prepared/play it safe/better safe than sorry etc. is NOT FUD!
