Road trip trunk gun?

On a two week road trip through West Coast free America...what would you take as a load out? Mix of family stays, hotels and camping with a non resident CCW in Oregon and Washington. I will be shooting a GSSF match on the trip so I will have 4 or 5 Glocks for that.

I am thinking LCP in pocket, Glock 17 in console and a 16in AR in 5.56 with a couple hundred rounds of ammo in a case. I have one of most anything CA gun possible, so 10/22 to .50...let your imagination run to the ideal set up for a two week trip with the family.

On a recent trip to Houston with my father, we took an AK 47, an AK 74, an AR 15 and a 1911. on the drive back to El Paso, about 60 miles east of the city, we took a break from the driving and pulled off I-10 to rest. about 3 minutes into our break we heard gunfire, presumably at us. did I grab a gun and shoot back? nope. we jumped into our truck and left in a hurry.

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I am not going to fight my way home, but it is not beyond belief that some major disaster happens while I am away.

Your handgun should provide then. If you want a little extra insurance, leave a rifle under the seat.

What's the worst that's happened recently? Rioting? Stay out of the black neighborhoods in the liberal cities and you'll be fine. If you get Reginald Denny'd for some reason anyway, again you have a handgun and a 2k pound vehicle.

The apocalypse isn't going to happen in the middle of your road trip though.

Sorry, but only the naive actually believe that we're somehow now immune to the "apocalypse." The earth is 4 billion years old, and you don't have to go back that far in time to find a break down of society. We're not immune from bad things happening just because we're in the USA.

I can accept you want to bring several arms on your roadtrip, it could be considered reasonable, BUT one GSSF match and you're bringing 4 or 5 glocks?!!??!
